I think the point is having an atari 2600 that you don't need to by a bunch of adaptors to get to run on a tv made this decade. I know Radio shack still sells those adaptors, but they're peices of shit and I've been though like 4 of them. I'll pick one of these up, modded, if the price is reasonable.
S-video on a 2600 is just an easy mod. No, you really don't need S-video, but its easier to pull of than a composite mod, so you might as well do the s-vid.
and if anyone says they dont need even a composite mod, they need a smack in the head.
