I'm praying that if the DVD sales are high that we could possibly see another season. However, let me just get excited over this news first...
SWEEEEEEEET.
Great news. Hope we see the return of the series. Which reminds me, I still need to pick up volume 4.
OH GOD YES
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I worry about this - the new Family Guy episodes are fucking unwatchable, and I fear a similar drop-off in quality.
Seth McFarlane is a one trick pony.
Matt Groening and David Cohen are ringmasters in a circus full of talent acrobats and clowns.
I hear you, but nonetheless its hard-to-impossible to "re-assemble the team" and get them firing on all cylinders like they did when the show ended its run. Look at what happened with Seinfeld when they let Larry David come back to write the final episode. Matt Groening is a great guy and a real talent but The Simpsons has become trash and he's still letting that gravy train run. And Cohen hasnt done much, if anything, since Futurama ended.
It probably has more to do with the corporate television structure than Groening turning soft. Back in the day the things the Simpsons did were one of a kind and refreshing. Nowadays an patient with an ear infection can't go five feet without hearing "Ow, my frickin' ears!".
The people who wrote for Futurama were a unique blend of smart. You may be right, but I'd rather risk it and get something magnificant back that I dearly miss.
It would obviously be better than the new Family Guy episodes. I welcome any sort of return of Futurama.
