It's not being "new" because I've been playing in the scene casually (As in, not entering a whole lot of tournaments) since CE. It's from avoiding SRK like the plague it is. I've tried to post there in multiple instances in time but every time I go back it somehow got worse.
I was playing Twelve for a while. Instant-XFLat's are dope. Than I decided that if I want to be worthless, I might as well have some fun with it so I picked up Sean.
This shit is so stupid. The fact of the matter is: America has slowly but surely caught up with Japan over the years in EVERY game. Yes, it is the fucking truth.
Our top players are every bit as capable as those guys, and in some cases even more so. I've seen some stuff out of Ricky Ortiz that would make any player on EARTH shriek in fear. At first, Japan dominated US in the sheer size of their community and players, but these days SF is on the upswing, and we are definately catching up with their top ranked players.
Who cares if all the top players are in Japan? What is stopping Capcom USA from putting a few beta machines in Japan and hiring a Japanese guy to talk to them?
