Wow, I don't even remember that it is almost half the game. Maybe because I tell that bitch to scoot and don't come out ever.

Like everybody else said, it's not really even an escort mission.
The primary side-effect of the ganadoitis virus seems to be the inability to operate a trash can, hence why every location is littered with shit all over the place. So you just toss her in a dumpster while you take care of business. Then when you're done you're just like "get over here" and she comes trotting up to you.
She's really only in the game so you can force her into her crawling animation to look at her butt.
It's totally an escort mission. It's just not as bad as it could be. Nowhere near Zero, for example, and that bitch could use a firearm.
I'll be on tonight if anybody is up for some co-op. I am feeling a bit under the weather today so I will be in all night.
For all that I was worried it would be, Ashley was not annoying at all in RE4. Even the one part where you had to control her was kinda neat (and scary) She always ducked out of your way when you were aiming, and the only time she'd ever really take damage was when it was something big like an explosion or something.
Hay, lets play this. Somebody shoot me and invite, I'll play any level.
I'm on chapter 4-2 (4-3?) in the pyramid doing that part with the light reflection to move down. I got to the third level where the critters come out when you open the chest, went into all the little rooms, and cannot figure out where I'm supposed to go to continue. I inadvertently fried myself (again) while trying to see if turning the things in different ways would do something else. Anyone who can tell me where to go would be greatly appreciated (and possibly repped!)
Also I'll be down for co-op in a little while if anyone plans on playing.
You just need to move the mirror right before the final mirror out of the way (not pointing to the final mirror), then move the final mirror facing the right way, then back to the mirror right before and move it in place. Now you are out of the beams and can walk to the platform exit.
I'd like to play this more often with people - so far its been 95% me and dummy AI, 5% with people. Played with ElCap and a random and both were overwhelmingly fun. Finding those blasted BSAA emblems? Not as fun.
PS - and back on the "casual hardcore" kick - I really hope more developers take not of this and reverse engineer it into their games. So maybe too easy games could benefit, or overly complex ones could learn a thing or two. I'm just really floored with the nice balance Capcom struck on RE5.
