NWS is definitely a waste of space and time. but if you're a tourist then i guess it's something you might like to see. that entire area in general is really nice to walk around, though, so i'd recommend doing that. going north you'll end up at Central Park, might even go further up and check out Lincoln Center (i went to HS right behind it). if you go south (and a few streets west), you'll hit Times Square. Multimedia 1.0 ain't so great, IMO. good source if you're looking for something old and hard to find, but terrible in that the prices are so high ($100+ for Persona 2? :wtf: ). and Toy Tokyo is a friggin' godsend of a place. haven't been there lately, but it makes me feel like a kid going into TRU whenever i do step inside. there's also Kid Robot somewhere in SoHo, a smaller boutique similar to Toy Tokyo, but it's just as nice.

so basically, you can get lost and still find something to do in the city.

All I have to say is walking around NYC on mushrooms is the greatest thing ever.

I kind of prefer not being a loser and taking junk like that, but hey, that is just me

PA folk, YEEEEHAWWW!!!!, are infinitely more redneck than in NJ. I used to live in Cherry Hill, and although I was young, it seemed pretty normal to me. When I moved to Irvine, CA, I went with my parents to meet with the principal about starting elementary school, and he said coming from NJ that academically (meaning the standards in Jersey are way higher) I'm way above average. CA schools are fucking awful, (Why do they spend so much money landscaping the schools when the academic standards are what they should be spending all this money on? Superficial fucks...) so that really isn't saying much, but, DiffX is right when he says Jersey has one of the best public school systems in the country.

This is the truth. As much as I hate Jersey, overturned landfill that it is, they do not have the sheer volume of no-toothed retards that Pennsylvania does. I grew up in Wilkes-Barre, which is in the northeast corner, but even we have spillover from central PA. PA, as far as I'm concerned, exists in 3 parts:

1. Eastern PA, the Philly side.
2. Western PA, the Pittsburgh side.
3. Central PA, the deep south. Welcome to Pennsyltuckey.

I have never encountered more hee-haw banjo-playing inbred morons than I have in central PA, and yes, even in the more rural parts of where I'm from. My sister and I were a lot alike when we were younger, but she went to a different high school than I did. Next thing you know, she was listening to country music and four-wheelin' with the good ol' boys. And if that wasn't bad enough, a lot of them are incredibly racist and not afraid to act on it. The shit that happened at her school was ridiculous.

Okay, end rant. Moral of the story, Jersey smells bad, but their diner technology is superior.

Yeah, GR just opened in June, 9th st between A and B. The LA one is the main location right? Oh, and to be a bit more specific, Toy Tokyo is on 8th st ("Saint Marks") between 1 and A. The place Ashen mentioned, Kid Robot, is on Prince St between Wooster and Green.

I did say browse, instead of shop. ;) Yeah, the prices are all off the wall, and if something isn't priced, they look up on eBay for the price, and if it's not there, they GUESS.

But... $300 for a released Genesis prototype? They really think they have gold, and I have no idea how the store has been open this long.
