Note to anyone who plans on buying an iPod soon -- the 5th generation iPods that are coming out later this year may come with a removable battery to avoid more class-action battery lawsuits. Morphix, it's too bad your brother couldn't wait till then, but if he's as big as spender as you are, that shouldn't stop him from getting the 5th gen iPod later this year.
he will get another one, I am sure. He did get the replacement warrantee on it this time, so it should die on him right around the time the new ones come out.

I'll call Apple up today and see what they can do. I can't find the dam receipt or I'd return it (stupid brother can keep anything organized!).
I know the day he bough it (thanks to an old haul thread) so I guess I can look up his old mastercard statement if Apple requires proof that it is only 3 months old.
Fuck Apple, with no receipt they want like $100 to fix it, so I just ordered a replacement battery for $32 with 3 day shipping.

Just bought this because my Creative Zen (which I bought in January) died on me in May and they are just now refunding my money according to the replacement contract. I have no protection plan on this one, however, so I hope it doesn't bite me in the ass.
I have the ones to the far left and they just broke today after a long time of having them. Please share if you have extras. =(Quote:

The Apple iPod battery thing has been crap for a while. I had two third-gens (sold one to Tain's brother when I upgraded, though) so in the mail I got rebates from Apple for either a replacement battery or $50 Apple.com gift certificate. They were required to do that for the 3rd gen, though I don't know about newer models.
