I'm bored and I don't think we've done one of these in awhile.
I just installed Planescape: Torment. Yeah, screw all you graphics whores. I started it once and never finished it but I just got an itch to play it again so I'm gonna do that.
So what are all you douchebags currently playing?
I played the first level in Ninja Gaiden (on the xbox) died, and gave up. I then played Ninja Gaiden (nes... but also on the xbox) and got to the 2nd level before dieing 10,000 times and giving up.
I suck at video games now.

Ghost Hunter-PS2-I waited on this game until I got it cheap(last week at CompUSA for $20). The game is actually really cool and I'm glad that I got it.
Megaman and Bass-GBA-I got halfway through it when it was released and just recently started back up. This game is fucking tough as nails. I'm at the second to last level and the boss/miniboss battles are fucking brutal.
Still play Meteos, and I borrowed a friends copy of FFVIII. I'm already on the second disk.:)
Meteos, and Phantasy Star IV. I really like the way they did the cinematics in PSIV, and I can't believe more 16-bit rpgs didn't try the same thing. It's also the only Genesis PStar without a completely stupid battle system.
But I'm not sure I'm really into the game yet - the soundtrack is so massively overrated so far I can only assume the people that foamed over it never played a 16-bit Square or Enix rpg. And for whatever reason, I'm just not feeling the battles yet. But I'll keep plowing ahead.
I'm currently playing everything in my signature, and also the bajillions of roms I have on my Xbox. Most notably Yoshi's Island and Chrono Trigger.
Finished Tales of Destiny two nights ago, now I'm focusing on Tales of Eternia. I'm already liking it more and I really enjoyed Destiny. Oh yes, it's nothing but the *good* stuff. /stewie

Diving into Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for the first time. Also mixing in some DOA:Ultimate over Live, and I'm going back to some of the difficult campaigns in Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders.
I don't recall many that people praising PSIV's soundtrack. The sound quality is my main issue in IV. It was grating at times. The compositions weren't as good as Uwabo's(who did I and II) either.Quote:

Aww, I miss these threads. Lately I've been playing Goemon's Great Adventure, God of War, and Tales of Symphonia. All very fun games :) I cant wait to try Goemon with two players.
Been playing a whole ton of MG Acid. Almost done, I think... there's a lot about the gameplay that's clunky and kind of annoying, but if they can fix this up in the sequel, I think it's going to be great. I'm liking it a lot thus far.
Started playing Wipeout Pure again the other night, and now I can't stop. When I'm done with both I guess I'll pick up Lumines and Ridge Racers, and then I'll probably have all that's worth playing on PSP right now, but I don't think that'll be for a while, plus thanks to 1.5 I've been playing a lot of Megaman 2, Tetris DX, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Shinobi 2 was easily my favorite GG game. Switching between different ninja styles for different powers ruled. The one part I disliked was the maze of a last level where you had to go through the rooms each assigned a different letter, I never did get past that last level, I still loved the game though!Quote:

I also got my hands on the Megadrive Ninja Gaiden ROM. It is thoroughly unspectacular. I did like the Niagara Falls level with the majestic frozen mountains in the background though. There are no mountains within like 1000 miles of the falls - OMG draw distance!
I'm currently playing Qix thanks to the plug 'n play I bought. I've never played it before, and it's quite an addictive game, definitely worthy of the hype. I'm also playing WWF No Mercy, Fire Pro Wrestling 2, WWE Day of Reckoning 2, and Atelier Iris. All of which rule in their own way.

Can't believe I missed that until more Shinobi conversation picked up. I had forgotten about these games... well, I only played the first, but shit, that was my favorite game for a long time as a kid. Probably the only GG game I ever played for a really long time, I was so thrilled when I finally beat it. I recall the last level of that game being an epic struggle at that stage. Might still be. Did it ever get an SMS release? I'd love to play it on a TV, heh, and I have no GG conversion equipment.Quote:

..Battle Qix seems like it may be a good two player twist, but I've passed on any chances to purchase it because of the anime girls that you uncover in the backgrounds. Qix always seemed like more of a man's game to me. I don't want prepubecent pornish cartoon characters getting mixed up in my Qix.
Ultimate Qix on the Genesis seems good, and I'm looking to get Qix Neo for the PlayStation, which hit the U.S., while that collection in the link hasn't. Diff, hype, praise, whatever. The point is it lived up to my expections.

MM&B is hardcore. I think there's like 15 bosses you have to fight in a row at the end, all without saving. I loved it though. Almost went back and played through as Bass to try to get all 100 discs.Quote:

I'm going to be buying Psychonauts very soon, and I'll be playing Elder Scrolls Morrowind to round everything out. Also World of Warcraft, but my spare time nowadays is focused on bettering myself as an artist (form, perspective, landscape, figure, anatomy, etc.) so I can't put enough time in to that game.
Once I get full time employement (in like... a week and a half) I'll have even less time (and way more money).

Anyway, done with chapter 2. The story isnt that great. The love story stuff is okay, but still kinda out there - Max says he dreamt he killed his wife for Mona, but that makes no sense in the framework of the story (i know he's hot for her, but thats taking it too far, even for overwrought MP dialogue). The rest of it is a jumbled mess of Illuminati-wannabes and cleaning people and whatever that isnt interesting. Its clear the writers didnt care a single bit about all of that. Whereas the whole thing with that drug, and the addicts, and shit like that - it was really well done in the original.
And the gunplay is mildly inferior to the original thanks to the reworked bullet time.
Ill finish the game (its probably only like 2 more hours left) but I have to say this game is mildly dissapointing.

I've just been playing Psychonauts and Killer 7 very slowly, but I'm really enjoying them both. I'm surprised how polished Psychonauts is, I wasn't so sure a newly assembled (if experienced) developer could make such an all-around great game. The camp hub is really fantastic.

I'm also playing Amplitude. It's fun but nothing insanely awesome. The music is asstastic but that's already been said a million times.
The Mekon song is really good though.
I'll probably unlock everything, pick up Frequency and just stay with that. I'll also pick up Karaoke Revolution if I see it cheap. I need something to use with my newly aquired SOCOM headset.
Tsukiyo ni Saraba, which is actually vaguely inspired by Max Payne, but much, much more difficult, and built more around moving quickly and firing effectively than just relying on bullet time to waltz your way through enemies. There's also a kung fu character I haven't unlocked yet, and you can flip off walls. The difficulty is an utter bitch though, talking Ninja Gaiden on Very Hard levels, though not quite the Hurricane Pack insanity.
I'm only on level four and I'm already stuck. I'm stuck because it's a relatively small area where enemies pour in from all sides with no cover and several cars around you that explode if you shoot them (and take off most of your life if you're standing next to them). I can get so very close to finishing, flipping through the air with my life almost totally gone, but one lucky shot always gets me.
The only three games I've been playing for a while have been Pokemon Puzzle League (N64), Final Fantasy IV (PS) and Super Smash Bros Melee.
Pokemon Puzzle League is just addictive as all hell. I just ordered the Nintendo Puzzle Collection from Play Asia yesterday, so I can't wait to have a GBA version of that game to take with me when it arrives.
Final Fantasy IV I was really enjoying and then I landed on that damn moon. I hated the moon when I played this game on the SNES 12 years ago, and I hate the moon now. Truly, I'm at the point where I don't even know if I want to even keep playing the game because of how unenjoyible that area is. I guess I'll give it another go again soon, though.
Smash is just fun and I'm still having fun playing against a few level 9 bots for practice.
World of Warcraft - The ONLY game that I've been playing in months now.
Started up Morrowind GOTY (xbox) this weekend. Didn't get very far into it back when it came out because I was so busy with school & work. I basically picked it up because I needed something good, cheap and long.
Played through Castlevaina SOTN over the past 2 days. I'm at 198.6% and I think I'll stop there. I've already done it all twice and I've been at about this percentage level a dozen or so times. This has to be close to my 20th playthrough of the game and it still hasn't gotten old.
After playing Civ 3 for the past year or so I went back and installed Civ 2. It's still an amazing game but I'm of the small percentage out there who likes 3 better.

Go Online, because obviously I've become a blubbering fanboy. Back when I was still out of the anime/manga scene, I secretly loved Hikaru No Go and now that I'm back in, I'm all about it. I've been playing a couple matches a night against friends and quite frankly, I'm horrible at it.
I also got Pariah in from my free Gamefly account (Thanks Del Taco) and I plan on checking that out tonight. I had high hopes for the game but mediocore reviews scared me away until now.
megaman battle network 5, team protoman. much better than mmbn4. you don't have to beat it 3 times to unlock all the soul uinisons. beat it last friday night and now attemtping to collect most of the chips and fight the harder versions of the bosses. that's all i've been playing for about a month or two.

In between sessions of WoW , I played a little bit of Spikeout: Battle Street at a co-workers place......what a shitty game. Jemery your review in HCG was way too kind.
I've been playing through Morrowind:GOTY, and am totally locked. I'm also spending plenty of time on Phantom Dust, Spikeout, SvC, and SFIII.

Been playing Sonic Adventure on Gamecube. Since its still summertime I like to go back and play the Emerald Coast levels alot and Lost World.
The game feels so appropriately 99' but in a good way. For me at least.
I might dick around with Mario Sunshine and try to finish DMC3 but I'm iffy on that.
One thing bugs me about SimCity 4 - the damn "EA GAMES - *CHALLENGE EVERYTHING*" horseshit that you cant skip and have to watch every time you start. Any hack to get rid of it? EA sucks.
I've only been playing Resident Evil 4 though again, which is pure sex, and Battlefield 2. Nothing else is worth playing.

My friend and I played Pariah, the game was indeed meh, but somewhat enjoyable, it was only like an 8 hour game I think if even. Considering they hardly had any plot, I don't think I had a clue what the hell was going on the entire game.

It's too fast at first. All I could do was jam down the fire button as fast as possible when I started, but that isn't even enough to take you past the first boss. Even bullet time doesn't make it an easy win, especially when some bosses have their own time stopping abilities. I was stuck for a while on this total bitch who could not only slow time, but fire knives at me and block my shots at the same time. Just the few seconds it takes to reload can cost you a good chunk of your lifebar, though using a special flip immediately before usually makes you safe.
With the bullet time, melee fighting, critical shots, and special abilities each character has there's a lot to the game that keeps it interesting and challenging. I've been playing a lot just to unlock the forth playable character just to see what she's capable of.
I just got through spending my weekend playing silent hill 4 for the first time and finished with the worst ending after all that effort to keep my damn neighbor alive.
Good thing I like dark endings.
