I overheard someone talking about this, saying they read an interview in a magazine (aka, take this as you will), that he started feeling like maybe he was contributing to the problem, instead of making it better, when he was doing a skit where he was dressed in blackface. Basically, he felt that a white guy in the audience was laughing TOO hard, and that it bothered him, and he stopped after that. He also said something about his father saying if he didn't ever feel right doing something, get out while you had the chance. Again, maybe they were talking out there ass, but it makes sense to me.

I had always assumed that there was no 3rd season because Comedy Central wanted Dave to do the same old stuff he had been doing, because that's what was making them money. And seeing as Dave wanted a show where he could do whatever he wanted, having CC breath down your neck saying, "Do this, do that" would be irritating.

I don't know. If he signed the contract, he should have fulfilled it. But if what I had heard was right, then I agree with him.

i can vouch for this....i think it was in a Time article. i remember the white guy int he audience comment.
