so yeah i was watching tmv and saw a contest that they are runnign sorta like the metallica one that they ran back in the 90's btu instead metallica won't be tehre :( it's called muther truckin and you win an 18 wheeler full of diffrent prizes cash prize as well to be throwin in as well so that's pretty cool any1 else seen this?

Yes, it was awesome for like the first couple of seasons (it's no longer awesome because it became stagnet). But then it spawned Road Rules and from there about 4000 other waste of air time shows that slowly took away the music from music television.

Beavis and Butthead, Headbanger's Ball, and Aeon Flux were the only 'shows' I cared for back in the day. Never got into Real World/Road Rules. They play Beavis and Butthead on MTV2 early morning on the weekends. Oh, and I did like Spider Man and Doggy Fizzle. I prefer Uranium to Headbanger's Ball with Jamie Jasta. As much as I dig Hatebreed, Juliya is just more fun to watch.
Can we please get a Beavis and Butthead set WITH the Videos?

I got into music in 1994 when I got a TV of my very own. I used to watch their top 20 countdown, it was rad. They had a two hour block of videos at night I would watch, as well. Pretty much every night. And there was a three or four hour block of videos during the day. I also watched some of their other shit, like those documentaries about sex =O. A post earlier reminded of the greatness that was clone high and mtv descision the cut the great work of animation was the last straw for me. I've hardly watched ever since.

I think I lost touch with MTV when they started churning out all those crap game shows and reality shows. I mean, Singled Out was funny for a little bit. Loveline was funny (and provided an interesting early sexual education). But, the Real World and all the rest of that shit just..didn't work.
Oh yeah, Buzz Kill should have lasted longer.
The last time I remember seeing a music video on MTV was whenever Undertow had just came out and they were playing the Sober video around midnight.

Truth be told, I think the Disney channel shows more videos than Mtv does now. They show about one during every commercial break. I imagine that adds up in a 24 hour period.

I used to watch the newer Mickey Mouse club. Apparently a lot of our modern day popstars were on it.
