I've been playing Ridge Racer since the beginning and this one, while not difficult (so far), is by far one of the most fun in the series. I'm digging the fact that they borrow a lot from the PSP RR (which I love), and dividing all the cars up according to class and having this exploring gimmick for unlocking them is also fun.
I'd say a B+, but I'm only 10% through. I could see it getting old if the same tracks repeat too often.
well, boo to that. What is it with racing games these days that expect you to re-race the same dozen tracks a hundred times over? I only really noticed this pattern begin with Need for Speed Underground, but it's now a running requisite for racing games these days =(
Is there a racing game out there with 100 different tracks?
doubtful, but since when was it required to have 100 different races? People still like Super Mario Kart, and I doubt it's because of its unlockables or large single player mode.
Just the same, I know I'll play all of RR6. A little monotony can always be countered by some measure of pacing. As long as I don't try to go through 20 races in one go, I'll be fine.
RR6 is a solid B/B-. None of the tracks are particularly memorable, the cars all look the same, the AI sucks, but it looks clean and runs fast. An Outrun style RR would be pretty cool.
I will gladly take a permaban at this place if any of you niggaz can beat me at RR6! I am THE muthafucken greatest Ridge Racer 6 player in the United States beside my homies Rollonequick, rdm, and dadthemaster! The Ultranova is an extention of my right hand!!!!!!!!
