Just saw the video of this on the OXM disc. I think it looks (wait for it).....amazing.
Best looking cell shading I've seen yet.

For real. I can't wait to play a demo of this.
This does indeed look interesting. I can't believe it took someone this long to figure out that games based on comics should look somewhat like comics.
Playing as Venom: fuck yes.
This game takes the whole open-city approach that Spiderman 2 did, right? I hope the combat is better, but it looks too nice to pass up even if it isn't.
On a kinda related note, the upcoming Hulk game is apparently good. Yet another open-city sort of approach, but there are tons and tons of actions the player can do.

The open-endedness in Spider-Man 2 was fun for a weekend, but overall was just boring. How many times can beating robots/thugs,swinging some idiot to the hospital, catching ballons(WTF?) and delivering pizzas be fun.
Heh, you know what's awesome? Ultimate Venom has to eat people to survive, else the suit will consume its host. In the tutorial section explaining this, the first victim... is the balloon kid from the Spidey 2 game.
I would get the balloon first and then consume them.
I played so many 2d spiderman games from the 16bit era I can't remember which is which. I remember liking all of them, but I'm not sure I beat a single one. What was so wrong with Maximum Carnage?
It came in a red cart. Oh, and it sucked ass compared to other action games available at the time, like Gunstar Heroes, Shinobi 3, and Yoshi's Island.Quote:

I must be the only person who thought Maximum Carnage was fun.
But, the last time I played it, I was ten, so what do I know?
that sounds real tight but this is about spidey...someone post some pics...Quote:

Thats because you were all young and stupid when it came out. Noobs.

I dont think Acclaim is making this game, though.Quote:

Damn kids don't know shit about shit. That's why they hadn't figured out that Acclaim sucked balls long before Maximum Carnage. They probably read the hype for it in GamePro.
No, we probably just had fun with the game without letting our grumpy-bastardness get in the way of enjoying it.Quote:

Hooray for the same game as we got 6 months ago, with updated graphics!
Ultimate Silver Sable is in the game as well. Custom designed for the game.
Maximum Carnage was okay.
respek -1 :(Quote:

Maximum Carnage did follow the comics very well though. It even used pages from the comics in between levels.
I thought that was pretty cool. If I wasn't such a insane spiderman comic fan at the time I probably wouldn't have liked it as much, but it really did follow the story almost flawlessly.
The Ultimate line of comics puts the regular Marvel universe to shame. Hopefully this trend will carry over into the game.
I played the demo on GC at work, and the level I was playing reminded me a lot of a 3D free-roaming Rampage... so it may be repeatative, but goddamn did I have a lot of fun with it, so I'll definitely pick it up at some point.Quote:

That was definitely a sweet game.Quote:

Where's the love for the Sega CD game? Minus the theme music, of course.Quote:

I'm glad to see so much love for Batman Returns on the SNES. That's my favorite Batman game, and it still looks good today.
Incidentally, how was Seperation Anxiety? For some reason I seem to remember it being pretty good.
Shit, thats the one! The game kicked so much ass back in the day. I'm sure it will refuel the whole 10 year olds vs adults thing but hell, that game rocked.Quote:

This, X-Men Legends 2 and Hulk Ultimate Destruction should make me and my X-Box very happy.
