The 360 isn't asking for to much, but damn't I just don't care. The DS still has the best christmas line-up in my opinion, and it will get the majority of my money.

I'll get a PS3 day one for RE5 and a Rev day one for SSB:Online. MS just doesn't have a breakout "I gotta have that" game

You summarized my feelings as well. If the 360 weren't first, it wouldn't have a prayer. We'll see what being first buys it.

If the 360 had a freaking game worth purchasing at launch it might have had a prayer. Or maybe they are holding out on a special game who knows.

Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer V. That's it. But Microsoft is not fighting a weakened Sega or sitting in the the leader's chair here either.

The retort (although not from me) will be "None. That's why I didn't get one at launch." Or, "None. Which is why I'll never buy another console at launch." For me, the launch lineup looks solid, and the naysayers who make it sound like there won't be any great games on the system are absurd. Whatever. They can play with their little stylus or PS2 or what have you. I want a new console, with new tech, and with new games, and I'm sure I'll have fun with them.

Microsoft is Microsoft. It's obvious that they're not in the position that Sony is in, but they're not a weakened Sega or Nintendo either, so it's not like Sony has this thing won by default.

I think there's still a lot that'll happen between now and launch day for both systems.

I waited a year to get the PS2, because it's lineup wasn't all that. The Playstation had quite a few titles in the first quarter though.

We're not talking first quarter. We're talking launch. I'm not falling for this "launch window" bullshit that Microsoft likes to throw around. The PS1 and PS2 had shitty launches.
