I'm playing it, rented it last night. Its fun enough, but its not better than Spiderman 2 was last year at making you feel like you were that hero.
I picked the game up for Gamecube last night, it's good destructive fun. I'm up to the 3rd mission. The graphics are really nice and all the stuff you're able to do as the Hulk like the charged combos and building climbing/vertical running is great, it's just the type of stuff that comic fans will get a blast doing like the trademark super jumps and thunderclap. I could wreck a whole level and still not be bored.
The missions do seem like they'll be over soon though so it'll probably be like Spider-Man 2 (which I still play). Hulk gives me a different satisfaction from Spidey's awesome web swinging and it's pure freedom to destory stuff.
It's not really meant to make you feel like a hero though since Hulk's not really a superhero per say. He's Marvel's Jekyll and Hyde so he's supposed to play like an out of control monster unless it was the other personalities like Joe Fixit or Banner HulkQuote:

I disagree with you, you are a superhero. A misunderstood one, that occasionally goes off on rampages, but in the game you are controlling the hulk with hynotic suggestion and such or so the story went if i recall, so you're basically the smart hulk.
And you missed my point, anyway. I was saying the game doesn't make me feel like the Hulk in the same way that Spidey2 made me feel 'ok, this is what it would be like to be spider-man'. I got that feeling sometimes, but not enough when i played.

No I know what you meant but how else is playing Hulk supposed to feel like?Quote:

OK, fair enough. I did say what I was thinking wrong. Its not Smart Hulk. It is Savage Hulk. But with you in control thanks to the hypnotic suggestions etc.
And as for why I think this isnt giving a true feeling for what it's like to be Hulk, its hard for me to say. I agree that things like having buses and cars slam on the breaks and even back up when you approach gives you something like that feeling, along with being able to destroy just about everything in your path. But running is really poorly done. So too is the hopping from place to place. And not once when I was playing did I hear a "Hulk Smash!"
Look, I'm not the worlds biggest Hulk fan, and if you are and this game makes you feel like him, great. I'm just not feeling it.
First I read progressive scan on GC chugs, and now this on Xbox... this does not make me feel confident in buying this game.. and fuck you to anyone who says "just get PS2"Quote:

I understand if it's not your cup of tea or if you didn't agree with certain elements of the controls.
TobalRox: I'm starting to think that the off-center issue might just be my TV freaking out since nobody else has said anything about the issue. Then again, Freedom Force runs fine in 720p, so I have no idea what's up.
