PGR3 may not make launch. (rumor)

from the screenshots we've see this doesnt suprise me at all. theres no way they could complete a game looking that good and having the tons of content it needs this soon. i always saw it as more of something to use against the ps3 launch.

If true, this pretty much confirms that i won't be getting a 360 at launch, which is fine by me, as I won't have to worry about staking out a Best Buy for a bundle-free system.

Plenty of people will be disappointed, but rushing that game just so it makes launch in substandard form is far worse. Not a big deal to me -- there are always decent games to play while waiting for some big title.

This was only one of the many (in relative terms) games that were coming out at launch (or near launch), so I'll continue my plans of getting the system day 1.

Some EA guy guessing it won't make launch is kind of a non-rumour to me, especially whenhe's saying it won't come out until Gears of War does, which is like February. Bizarre started off saying launch, then at GC said maybe launch window. Since they've made PGR their flagship title after PD0 fell flat on its face at E3, I'll still be surprised if it's not there at launch.

But it's not something that would bother me - if I get a 360 I'd be getting RR6 first anyway. So hold off I say, hold off!

All of the other PGR games took forever to make. Especially the first one, it was delayed for at least half a year on Dreamcast.

Hmm, the company that is making a racing game for launch that looks worse than PGR3, will play worse than PGR3, and will be burdened with EA Trax is saying PGR3 wont make launch.

I thought it looked impressive (visually) at E3, and was one of the best looking games at the show, imo. Very unique look. What do you mean that "it quite simply is not [a next gen game]"? Do you think that Rare took the old build and then didn't use any features of 360 that are only available on that platform? I assume they did, but I admit that I have no clue what kind of truly next gen features they've thrown in. Do you believe they've done none of that? Or is that you just don't like the look of the game?

None of this means I think the game will necessarily be good -- I hope it is, but I couldn't tell much about the gameplay from what I saw.

The version of Kameo they showed at E3 couldn't have run on the xbox. HD, 60FPS, loaded with polys, rich textures, all different animations going on... doesn't look outdated at all. And this was a 'playable' version, but they wouldn't let anyone else play it but themselves. Bastards.

I was there too, and I watched it in action and was incredibly underwhelmed. Maybe I'm expecting more out of the next generation, but... meh.

What I meant by "outdated" was that it wasn't the "latest build" or whatever they call it. They had it running on alpha kits, and it was the most stable build, like most games running at E3. I think the game will look MUCH better, as will most games, when they are finally released. This is why I feel it looks like it could be next gen. I think what most people complaining about things not looking "next gen enough" is that this generation seems to be more about games being in HD and having more stuff on screen at higher detail. People are just expecting too much right away. Wait until the system is out a year, then tell me you think the system doesn't look "next gen."
