You are getting my attention. Will it be coming out for the Xbox, so I can have online play?Quote:

Yes, yes. The only way they could make it sweeter is if they bundled it with SSV. I'll be playing both online myself and finally get some use out of my unintentional xbox live sub. '03 is good if you don't mind what I felt was a lousy cast, but I have it for the PS2 so it's hard to justify grabbing the xbox version.Quote:

Samurai Showdown V is coming out for Live in October, along with that redone KOF '94. What a great Fall for old school fighters.
I'm sure I'll have time for KOF in between BF2 matches over the weekend.
BTW. Is the version of SS5 special , or is it regular ol' Samurai 5?
Went out to get gas this morning at pop by my local EB...they didnt have it yet...I guess I will check again later while I'm at work...
Now there is a game that I have firsthand experience at knowing isn't good. Put SS2 or either of the Last Blades online, and you'll have something.Quote:

Got the game earlier today, and played both games online with Destro777 for a few hours. We are both novices to these editions of KoF, so there was lots of trial and error, but we had a blast playing both of them. Both games worked perfectly online from what I could tell. I also had no idea that 2002 and 2003 played so much differently, 2003 is like KoF on speed. Both are really fun though.
Only problems are with the Live set up. SNKPlaymore ALMOST got it right. For whatever reason SNK decided to make 2002 and 2003 have different features for their live content.
2002 you can enter a lobby where its litterally people in there who can all talk to each other, and join up together and fight. When the match is over, you both go back to lobby where you invite each other back. Or ask someone else to play. Its really odd because everyone can just talk to each other in the room. BUT unlike in KoF 2003 or SF:AV if you invite someone to play you outside the lobby, and the match ends, you don't get the option to Rematch. You would have to go through and re-invite them, so basically you just use the Lobby function.
2003 does NOT have that Lobby function. Instead it has a Tournament creater. You can set up to 100 man tournaments, set a dead line to join, start time, all sorts of stuff. It could be really cool, yet to see it in action. BUT unlike in 2002, if you invite someone to battle via friend list, after the match ends you have the option to rematch, and don't have to go through anymore menus. I can't figure out why that feature is not in 2002, but its SNK, they can't do things logically half the time.
ALSO, whatever options you select in the main game effect the online experience. For example, if you select Arcade backgrounds, when you host the match it will be the original 2D backgrounds. But then lets you fight someone else who is hosting, and they have it set to Normal backgrounds, then you fight on the new 3D backgrounds.
Oh, and you can also choose to fight in teams or single. And can turn off or on the hidden characters. So if you don't want to let the person have the option to play as the cheap boss characters, then you can turn them off. Also, in 2003 I believe you can choose to play traditional team battle rather than the new tag style, but I might be wrong.
Overall I am quite happy with this package, because in the end I get to play KoF online and its not laggy or anything. So all you scabs should get it and play against me, especially Cowdisease.
Me and clash just played about a billion matches in a row with zero lag. The only time I lagged was when I played this dude in Korea. The controls are very responsive. The crazy SNK moves are alot easier to pull off here than on Capcom vs SNK 2 on the normal xbox pad. Great online play, great fun, great game. Now I just got to learn some of these moves...
