Agreed, except the Japanese versions are better (Binaltech), since the main parts are in diecast metal instead of plastic. And some of these Binatechs are a pain to transform.

I like Grimlock so much that I bought the Binaltech Wheeljack too!

Yeah, die-cast, but $30 more. I'll take the $20 plastic ones, which look great anyway :)

You have any problems with the doors coming off to easy? I can't transform it without the doors falling off :/

Yup, I cannot transform either Grimlock (US) or Wheeljack (Japanese) without removing the doors. This design is truly a test of patience to transform.

He was tough enough without the doors off. Some of those parts are a real pain. Getting it to transform either way was a time-consuming process, heh.

Seriously, Energon, besides a few poor color schemes (ahem, and Optimus Prime), was the best toy series until Cybertron, which is completely amazing. Sucks to you if you hate posability and designs with character.
Well, best toy series except Binaltec/Alternators. Have you guys tried Toys R Us? Besides Target, that's the only place i find 'em.

Btw, nice choice on Quickstrike. Bulkhead sucks tho. It's amazing what a simple color change can do.

My problem with the newer Transformers figures is that they don't really look like anything. You transform it into a silly looking robot from some amorphis blob of brightly colored plastic. I like the figures that actually look like real life cars and jets--makes it more fun to admire the cleverness of the makers.

That Scorpion thing looks like the Universe one..... is it the same model (or very similar to it)?

I posted the wrong picture, I actually bought Autobot Whirl, not Bulkhead. :bang:

The old series had just as much nonsense as the new, with the realistic vehicles and jets appearing only in the beginning. Hell, i think there was only 1 jet really, just repainted about 5 or 6 times for different characters. The new robot designs more than make up for the occassional silly-looking vehicle.

GoBots had a lot more realistic vehicles. :D Remember? Baron von Joy, Dive-dive, Leader 1, Scootor? The robots. were. ass.

I do miss the non-vehicles tho. A few guns and cassette players would do Cybertron good.
