Yeah, that shit needs to go. The last thing we need is more Def Jam and San Andreas horse shit. If we wanted to experience that "culture", we'd watch the looting in New Orleans.

I hated EA WAY before they pulled that stunt, my friend. I'm thankful that they haven't updated the only useful series they have (Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit) in years so I can continue my boycott.

But that nonsense didn't become part of GTA (well, not a major part... it was always there in the background I suppose) until it was already an industry trend - the first two games (no Spo, the 2d ones don't count :p ) were about the mafia, not "gangstas". So including hip-hop elements in a game isn't jumping on the GTA bandwagon - quite the opposite, GTA jumped on the hip-hop bandwagon.
