spider

I hate spiders, and tonight, one tried to eat me.

I came home at approximatly 8pm. When i went to walk out of my house at 11pm this fellow was waiting for me. His web was right between my front door and the stairs to the walkway. The spiral portion was about 2 feet in diameter with the anchor lines stretching about 6-10 feet apart.

I was about to walk into it when i saw the light glint off this guy sitting right at the center. He freaked me out. But i grabbed my camera to take a few pics of him. I wish i had better camera for closeups, but i did get this one shot to come out really nice.

After his photoshoot i blasted him with enough Raid to kill a medium sized poodle. I flipped him over to take some more pics to try to identify him. They were all blurry but you can make out the markings on his belly.

By pictures it looks closest to a brown recluse, but this was a large conspicuous spiral web, which they apparently do not make. So i don't know what he is, other than fucking scary. His web was super sticky too. There is still some of it on me.

Oh yeah, the Raid wasn't even the first thing i sprayed him with. I have this other organic stuff called Bugs-R-Done. I gave him 6 or 7 good squirts of that first, and let me tell you, BUGS WERE MOST CERTAINTLY NOT DONE. He just sat there i think a little pissed off i made him wet. Once i hit him with the Raid he tried to run. He lowered himself the 4 feet to the cement and walked about a foot before he stopped moving. I was giving him the stream the whole time.

It's hard to judge size from those pictures, but how big would you say it was?

I never know which spiders bite or not since I don't have those handy spider identification books. That one looks pretty scary though, one thing I hate is when I pass by telephone poles at night and out of nowhere I breach a spider web and the web is stuck on my arm which never seems to come off.

I always wonder if the spider was still on that shit and is crawling somewhere around my back or something.

About the size of a fingertip. You can get an idea of size from the second pic, that's a standard plastic fork right next to him. I should have put a quarter by him, but too late he's a pile of squishies now.

That is why it's always good to keep a can of Axe and a zippo around. Fire does not disappoint in pest removal. It makes fixing a tent caterpillar problem a lot more fun than it normally would be, anyway.

It looks like someone wanted to put it in a plastic tub, too.
I guess that idea was rejected.

And to think, stormy could have had Spider-Man's powers if he was bitten by that irradiated spider.

I had his body in a tub for a while but i had to make sure he was good and dead after i got my pics. I don't want any spiders coming back to life seeking vengence on me or anything.
