I don't think they have to paint it on, just make one that fits the barrel. One of the Trigun figures got around it by having orange painted on the gun, but having the end of the barrel snap over the orange. You would have never known about it if you just saw the figure.

Snappable orange cap would be great.

I didn't like Masterpiece Starscream. Wrong color plus cheap construction = no sale.

BTW its not cheap construction. Its 10 inches tall when in Robot mode; and 13 inches in length in Jet mode.

Same here. I was on the fence for a long time about 'screamer. If they brought him down to $40, sure, but I'm not paying $100 for that.

I liked the original design they went with, but the guy they got to design the toy DEMANDED that it be realistic colors. Jackass.

Warpath looks good, not sure if I like the barrel sticking out like that in robot mode, looks kind of phallic.
