Hyper-conservative fundamentalist christian comics by people who aren't Jack Chick. I don't even know where to begin talking about them. On the plus side, sharing the pain is always fun.

Wow.
I thought the Safe Sex one was just corny. Then I saw the Homosexuality one and realised these comics are completely retarted.
Lastly I read the Evolution one and decided that I've lost all faith in humanity.
"Just like Eve, King David looked at and lusted for something that wasn't right, and wasn't his -- another man's wife, Bathsheba!"
"Cool! I typed 'Bathseba' into this x-rated search engine -- and look! 'Bathseba's Bad Bathing Babes'!"
ROFL

heh.. I like the one they did on rock music..
*edit*
holy shit, the one right above my post is insane.

This is, by far, my most favorite page ever.
Reading the Evolution one was what finally forced me into posting the link. It was the "evolution is a form of racism" that finally caused my brain to shut down.
"Sick dreams are made of fleas"? How can anyone paraphrase Annie Lennox and expect their "evils of rock music" message to be taken seriously?

Holy shit! Even the book of Timothy and the 12th Letter of Paul to the Romans want Marcy to back off from that horny quarterback!
I remember these from a long time ago, but I think they re-drew them in crappy anime style...

They need to make it appeal to hispanic people because they are the easiest to pull in these days. It used to be the Irish and Italians but they're making money now so they don't need religion.
You thinking of Chick Publications?Quote:

I read these comics and they were so hoky, I don't see how anyone could take them seriously. And I can't believe that someone actually took time to DRAW all this bullshit.
EDIT: I love how they try to blame Racism again blacks on evolution, saying that "it's because we believe that we were evolved from monkeys".
Check out "Evolution", pg. 1 and LOL

I swear I've been to this site a few years ago and had it bookmarked on my old computer. I don't remember the gay comic being as..."nice" as this updated anime one, but I might be confusing that with something else.
edit:
oh shits! in the new one they made the white boy looking at porn and the black boy the good one! Wow!!!
heres some article about the old pornography comic

Yeah I read all that garbage and while there are some valid points made the presentation in these things absolutely sucks.
It worse than those idiotic Gideon bible tracts. The completely one-sided nature of these things insults my intelligence and my faith.
And if rock music is from the devil then someone had better tell D.C. Talk that they are all going to hell.
It'd be nice if they made matching comics out of the more colorful sections of the Old Testament to contradict what they are trying to shove down people's throats.
Chick's tracts are still the best, by a fair margin. Though I don't know if the art in these not completely sucking makes them better or worse for comedy's sake.
No there's not, not a single one. This is the kind of puritanical Christian horseshit that only serves to hinder humanity.Quote:

admittedly, the moral values they portray are certainly haunting. What could become of me if i keep listening to rock music? might i, too, fall prey to their false gods of sex and drugs?
edit (reads evolution comic) good God, even the scientific experts are trying to brainwash me!
They should've spiced up the scripture references to be like an old comic book. "Refer back to issue 10:36 of Matthew! ED."
"We just chose our poisons, whether it's homosexuality or hatred."
Ha ha.

Pornography is supply and demand, and you'll never stop the demand - especially not by making people believe that the human body is a terrible, disgusting thing that should be hidden away and never thought of.
Fags are born that way; what they aren't born with are the mannerisms and whatnot that make you look at or hear someone and say, "Holy fuck that guy is so gay." I know plenty of gay guys who were not raised around the whole "Queer Eye" type of lifestyle and you wouldn't be able to tell they love the cock.
Evolution may have many gaps but at least it is a somewhat believable theory. That's more than you can say for a magical guy in the sky who conducted a symphony of creation, which is totally unbelievable.
I refuse to believe that an aborted fetus would ever have grown up to become a doctor. Or the next Hitler, for that matter.
Oh, and they should be focusing their efforts in music against bling-bling rap.
No way, the best part of that one is this:

Jesus has your city surrounded, surrender NOW. Oh, and if you kids pray with me we'll smoke this KB and make the girls do lines off our dicks.
This is some good shit:
"Okay, time out. All of you! Santo, it's not for you to judge anybody, including homosexuals. The bible does all the judging. But, no, Lusa, they are not 'born that way'. So homosexuality does not qualify as a civil rights discrimination issue."
Following that 'logic', christians would fall into the same category.
they're assuming everyone's either a Christian or a Christian-in-denial, man. by that logic everyone's a child of God from birth, whether or not they think so.
Well... actually... if say it were to turn out Christianity is in fact truth... then.. yeah, we would all be a child of god... >.> so I think it kinda goes along with being a Christian that you assume everyone is a child of god.
I'm not instigating the Christian religion. Jesus rules and all, but i don't think it's sensible to assume anyone's completely right or wrong, or to push any beliefs on someone else.
What, it's ok to instigate us who don't think "Jesus rules"? That's some nasty discrimination you've got going on there.Quote:

Oh come on, like you art major's wouldn't draw for them if they payed youd decently ;)
ANyway, this stuff is old news. They've been making corney stuff like this since way back in 97. I had to deal with it at church.
Whenever I was younger and bought D&D books (yeah, that's right, I played D&D and fucking Call of Cthulhu too, you got a problem?) they'd have those little pamphlet ones stuck in them. Real funny shit too.
These are gold.

The Bible is explicitly clear on that point.
You can't even say that everyone is a potential child of God because the Bible says that no one can even come to God in the first place unless they are drawn in by the Holy Ghost. Add this to the fact that Paul wrote that some are created for honor and some for dishonor, some created for glory and some for destruction and it becomes obvious that "No, everyone is not a child of God."
*waits for the inevitable "How can He be a loving God then?" retort*

Ah I just always thought of being somethings creation as pretty much synonomous with being the child of something, and no I've never read the bible that was just my collection of church memories thrown together into an assumption. My bad.Quote:

I also don't quite agree with their views on music. Dave Mustaine, Zakk Wylde, and if I'm not mistaken, Billy Corgan are professing Christians, and I doubt any Christian book/music store is gonna sell Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?, The Blessed Hellride, or Siamese Dream.

I mean, come on... God, the creator of EVERYTHING, the builder of life and all of its wonders and glory, doesn't want me to get a tattoo or listen to rock music?
Oh, and that Christian DDR game... WOW.
I don't understand religion. I went to church every Sunday for 18 years and I still don't understand religion. My mom is active in her church and my sister converted to Jewishnessess ... ess, and I still don't get religion. The reasoning behind it is completely alien to my brain.
The best part is when I ask how it's important to someone and they take it as a sign that something in my soul is crying out for conversion. You try to take an interest in what makes someone tick and they pull cheap psychoanalysis in return. Eesh!

Or the people who seem to get in your face anyway, like Jews for Jesus or Born Again wackos. At work the other day, this woman wouldn't leave until she'd told me not to "leave earth without a good bible," and shake the hands of everyone around her.Quote:

For some reason, I've been kept up tonight, realizing how much I hate the Christian (and all religions) yet admire them at the same time.
The positive thing about religion, they inspire people, people feel important or like life is worth living with religion.
They also inspire hatred or pity for those who don't follow their egocentrical beliefs that really, are probably in my opinion, just some fanciful ideals created to give people the belief that they serve something greater than themselves. Which in itself is not bad, but when you take and kill, or hate, or cast others out because of these idiocentric beliefs, you turn religion into an excuse to be a douche.
So while these close-minded egocentric baffoons turn what could inspire and help the world become a better place into hell on earth, I take a moment to look. Maybe, if everyone in the world believed in Christianity, the world would be a better place. Or maybe, if everyone in the world accepted other's beliefs, especially for the most part, those which don't really hurt anyone else or even have anything to do with you, the world would be a better place. Hell, maybe, if either of those two were true, this world would be heaven. But until then, it's a form of hell, maybe the entire bible is actually just a guide for us achieving true peace on earth and has no actual spiritual meaning.
Or maybe, it's a bunch of coincidences and grand events that happened over the course of thousands of years, taken into scripture, and transformed by rulers and other biased writings over the centuries that followed.
I mean, there hasn't been a new piece added to the bible since Jesus Has there? And whenever someone says they've seen news or heard from god, jesus, etc, our popular frame of mind turns these people out to be nut cases. Hell, if two thousand years ago, we had the frame of mind we have now, the bible probably wouldn't even exist.
And that ends my 3 in the morning, troubled mind for no reason, rant.
Edit: Or maybe I just need more Jesus in my Diet. And blood, that too.
Yeah, I know some people that are calling the hurricanes "judgements". It's bothersome only because they think it's a perfectly ok thing to happen because of that.Quote:

In which case I'm corrected on one part that for some reason is a big deal to me :/

About as much as many jews accept Jesus as the messiah.Quote:

Most of the new testament was written after Christ died.
I still can't understand why christians accept the book of revelations.
I've always wanted to study all of the world's religions and combine them into one big 'choose your own adventure'-type book, that everyone could believe in.
It would be way more effort than I'm willing to put into it though.

Yeah right.
Your grandparents are assholes if they won't stick by you and try to at least change your mind through love. Casting someone out of your life for not having faith is a horrible, horrible thing to do.Quote:

And as for my rant, I take every part of it concerning Christianity itself out of it. I have never read the bible, my conclusions are all drawn from other people's interpretations of this religion. I do not care ot read the bible, I'm lazy and I guess don't care enough about it, therefore I feel I should not even talk about christianity, it's moreso just people in all. I'm no longer going to think "There is a person who is a christian, there is a good chance they hate homosexuals and want to convert the world" they're just people, with a belief I do not share.
One day, if I read the bible, I'll make some judgements and decisions regarding Christianity, I've hated the religion a lot lately, but looking at it, even if I don't believe in that god, I know nothing about him and have judged him based on how his followers act. I haven't even given him a chance, and so, I'm just gonna keep my comments centered on the actions of the people, and not the religion itself.
Remember this fact:
People are idiots.
A lot of the draw to religion, I reckon, is the tradition. There's a natural human attachment to tradition - the desire to be a part of something that makes us feel connected to society and humanity. It can be big things, like religion, or it can be little things, like your family setting the Christmas tree up on the day after Thanksgiving. With religion, you suddenly have these customs and traditions that go back thousands of years, and it makes you feel like you are part of a bigger whole. If something has been done for thousands or hundreds of year, then if I do it too, it connects me to those people in the past, and maybe I feel like a piece of me will live on in future people just like a piece of the people who did those same things in the past now lives on when I do them.Quote:
