Hello all.
We just got our power back here, it has been out since 3 AM Friday night.
I still don't know how my house is, but we have had reports that my parent's place came out mostly unharmed, despite having 8 large trees down in their yard. My Brother & Sister in law had their roof taken off & have extensive water damage in their house because of it. We know others who have multiple trees through their houses. It is gonna be between 2 weeks and a month before we have power back in Lake charles and around that long before we can go back. There is nothing working there at all,no water or gas, nothing. The national guard is turning returning people away at the parish line. Tomorrw we are gonna go apply with FEMA for relief.
I don't know how Sulphur is, or how Brad's house came out, but I hear the flooding is really bad out there. Sulphur is pretty near Cameron parish. From what we have heard on the news & from people who stayed behind, Cameron is just gone, 90% of the structurs in Cameron & Hackberry are just gone.
Well, I'll be around, gotta go.
