Dell plz dont cancel my order kthx

There was a large rush on Dells today over at fatwallet and i got in on the deal just in time, it was dead 30 minutes later. It is somewhat shady, since the 50% off monitor upgrade discount kept stacking every time you hit the upgrade button in the cart. So, all in all this is what i got for $1100:

Dell dimension 9100
2.8ghz dual core pentium
1gb ram
160GB HD
a shitty x300SE video card ( :( )
windows media center
and the best part of all....
24 inch UltraSharp™ 2405FPW Widescreen Digital Flat Panel

Still haven't decided if i'll sell the comp and just keep the monitor. I think i could get around $600 for it. That is if dell ships, although so far the only people reporting getting thier order cancelled were the ones trying to order 10 of them. My current status is "in production" :D

why would you sell the computer? It seems like a pretty reasonable machine...

if you really don't want it I can take it off your hands, although I can't exchange monetary funds for it due to the fact I don't have any monetary funds

I guess it'd be a stupid thing to do, considering i couldn't replace the performance at that price. But I have had my heart set on a doing a Shuttle build with an AMD chip since i started tracking prices a couple weeks ago. I found this deal because i have been watching that monitor like a hawk waiting for another decent sale (best solo price was $779 couple months ago, only hitting $900 since). Just couldn't pass this up even with my bias against Dell/intel.

Sell the computer and build yourself a new one. You would do your widescreen a great injustice if you kept that crap. Yes, get yourself an athlon 64.

Fantastic price considered you'll get that awesome 2405 widescreen monitor!! All you really need to do is sell that videocard and invest in a 7800GT if you could afford it.. if not than a 6600GT for less than $200 should do just fine.


I am jealous...I want that 2405 but just can't afford it unless I use my CC and pay monthly. Its on sale now for 900.. 900!!! Too much for my blood.

I agree though on the sell the computer comments if you could get like 500 for it which I'm sure you probably could with school season just starting. Maybe some parent or student would buy it off you.

If you still want a 2405FPW, time is rolling around for dell's quarterly sales extravaganza... I'm sure you can score one for like $750 or so by haggling a sales rep

If that's the monitor I think it is, you don't want it.
I think it's the one that has a defect in the power supply that makes it emit a high-pitched squeal that will drive you nuts.
