Seriously, what is it about video game podcasts that the people doing them have to either be utter idiots, or know nowhere near enough about video games to be doing a podcast? Anybody know of any good video game-based podcasts?
The ones I've found are:
The Video Games Show
Really nice production, and I like the hosts. The problem is, sometimes they know absolutely NOTHING about what they are talking about, and really need to do a bit of research. For example, in the most recent episode, one of the guys is talking about the Tecmo Collection, and says that Tecmo screwed up and made some strange versions of the old games instead of putting on the old games. He likens it to how Sega is "updating" their older games for PS2. The version on the disc are the ARCADE VERSIONS, and he either should have known that already, or at least done five seconds of research. Those kinds of errors make the show rather annoying, because otherwise they sound like they know what they're talking about.
Intelligent Gaming
Remember how you would fall asleep listening to a certain teacher in school because of how utterly boring and dull their voice is? That is this guy. The host sounds like he's on some sort of drug, and just drags on as you try to stay awake. As well, sometimes he goes into these long diatribes about games, and you just couldn't give a crap.
VideoGameNews Radio
I listen to this podcast and image it is three drunk fratboys somewhere who somehow figured out how to hit a "record" button. If they were funny, that would be something, but they aren't. Pretty much worthless.
GameSpot presents the HotSpot
Actually, more decent of a podcast than I originally expected it would be. In the latest episode, the female host actually mentioned Ouendan for the DS, which won her points with me. Kind of like the Video Games Show, though, they make a few more mistakes / have a few too many bouts of ignorance for what they should.
Cheap Ass Gamer's CAGcast
Probably the best of the bunch. Personality, funny, and not many instances where they have no clue what they're talking about. Doesn't seem to be weekly, though, which sucks.
