X05: The thread

Well, Microsoft's big X05 conference is tomorrow (Tuesday) in Europe; let the 360 hypefest begin in earnest. Everything for launch should be playable, and hopefully they announce what the launch day lineup will be. So we should finally get to see what PGR3 really looks like in motion - personally I'm hoping they hold off on releasing that one until they can get it 60fps & beautiful.

I'm also hoping a) DoA4 continues to improve, it's looked better with every new batch of shots released b) Oblivion will, in fact make launch, and b) Ridge Racer 6 looks more impressive than it did at TGS...you know, like 2 weeks ago.

I don't expect them to show much of anything to do with Halo 3 - they need Perfect Dark to be grabbing all the headlines it can get, and a Halo trailer/announcement would steal the show.

There's also supposed to be a couple of new exclusives announced, but nobody knows yet. I think games whose names start with Shen and Panzer and end with Mue and Dragoon would be most welcome. Though again, breath not held.

Shen Dragoon and Panzer Mue would rock! :p

I gotta say I'm really looking foward to this. Memo to Microsoft: Dazzle us and watch us dance with our wallets in hand.

I can't help thinking how much announcing Oblivion as a 360 exclusive would make all those PC fanboys cry.

I'll be up early tomorrow to help out with X05 stuff. I plan on spending the day in constant tears over the fact that I won't be able to afford a 360 at launch :(

It should be a really, really good event for MS.

Looking at the screens for PDZ it kind of looks like they kept the hold the button in to get a aiming crosshair thing from the last game. I hope thats not true because that would just be really fucking gay.

Man, it's like Rare used every color in the spectrum for PDZ.

Wow...PDZ still looks XB 1.5ey to the max. PGR3 looks smoove though - I'm glad at least one dev remembered what anti-aliasing is.

I knew PDZ was awful after wasting 15 minutes of my life watching the MTV special. They haven't done anything yet to change my opinion. RARE really has lost their touch, if they ever really had it to begin with. I'm starting to wonder.

I mean, come on, I'm supposed to get excited for Kameo? The game I was lukewarm about when it was an N64 / GameCube / Xbox game? LOL, no thanks, they can push that thing Xbox 7 for all I care.

I'm still betting on the launch day to only have 10-15 games. I bet they dont want to push everything out right away and have stuff trickle in over the next 2 months until X-mas. Which really is fine by me because its less games I would be tempted to buy on day 1.

that is not going to happen, the devs have clearly stated that the pc version is coming, in fact they took some heat from the pc fans, for not promoting it enough. however to go with your hypothetical, there would be violence and bloodshed, maryland would be getting disaster releif from new orleans it would be so bad, itagaki would say they used too many nuclear missles, it would be funny :D .

oh and every time you gusy say pdz i think they are remaking panzer dragoon zwei for the x360, and my hopes get up, stop that. :cry:

FINAL EDIT: well, pete heinze (bethesda's pr guy) has a interview up on gmaespot and he says available at launch, so i guess its official, available at launch it it!! huzah. hopefully the pc and 360 still release at the same time as they have been saying.

It could be like Halo was when MS bought Bungie and the promises PC version came out like three years later, and the next game in the series would be a pure exclusive. That would be all right, wouldn't it? :p

if Polyphony did GT4 on Xbox, I expected it to look better then the vids of PGR 3 is looking now
btw anyone know how many cars on sceen PGR3 will have? I remembering seeing only 6 or was that 8???

Games I want at launch:

Gears of War, Mass Effect, Perfect Dark Zero. Oblivion would be here if the game wasn't also for the PC (mod community > xbox 360).

Games that interest me:

Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, Too Human

This sounds like a great launch to me. I'm also a little bit weary of PDZ. I'll probably wait for the reviews before picking it up. Same with Kameo. Mass Effect looks amazing to me, but it may be too similar to Too Human.

The only thing it doesn't have is RPG's.

Footage of Joanna Dark cocking her gun a million times doesn't instill me with faith. Some of the stuff looked cool, so it's a "wait and see" thing for me. The game looked cool.

But every game is in the future on the 360 for some reason. I guess everyone sat down and decided on no more games based around the medieval era.

Sorry, but yeah. Take a look at the footage of the New York track. When they look to the sides, and you can see all of the buildings in the distance, holy crap. GORGEOUS.

That PGR 3 video looks amazing, especially when the car drives under the overpasses. That track should really shine at night.

I forgot that Bioware was developing Mass Effect. But that's even better, considering the last two RPG games Bioware developed turned out to be Game of the Year contendors for the genre. The first winning hands down.

FYI Gears if War is NOT a launch game. Or even an 05 game. :(


Damnit people Call of Duty 2. Seriously, I've been really looking into it, reading and watching every preview I can find and it seems awesome. And you all can stick it with your its another WW2 game crap. :D

The only WW2 game I need is Strikers 1945.
