Hey I played for two weeks before I got sick of it.

I'll be on though. I'm much more amiable to Halo 1 mechanics than Halo 2 mechanics which ultimately turned me off from the game entirely.

Took a look around, I could've sworn there had been mentions of that before Halo 2 came out. This interview with the cinematic director, however, says I'm wrong:

So they seem to be canon until Bungie has something appear in the games which contridicts it. ILB, the female MC in DOA4, and things like that are all non-canon for sure.
