Were ou even going to buy this anyway?
I agree completely. It's just something Bungie has never done, especially this long before release. And that's not going to change unfortunately.
The return of the Assault Rifle, in improved form, interests me.
Frog, if you're expecting new groundbreaking gameplay from a Halo single player game, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. On the other hand, if you're expecting greatly improved Halo gameplay on steroids with a much larger scale and extremely fine tuned mechanics, you'll definitely enjoy the game. Or at least from the tidbits they have talked about the SP experience.
I could very well be wrong, and hopefully am, but I doubt single player will be as groundbreaking as the first Halo was with it's 2 weapon and shield system.
edit: And a question for Nomi, is there any truth that you can set voice options to "All, Team, Party, or Off"? Because if so, that would be fucking awesome.
I always expect a little more when a franchise moves to a new console generation. But maybe the significance of the move from last gen to this gen isn't as signifcant as in the past.
I'm fully expecting the campaign to be on the same level as Halo 2's. In other words, suck.
I'm hoping the first thing we see in the single player campaign is the Arbiter get shot in the head, then the Chief takes over for the rest of the game.
I'm fully expecting halo 3's campaign to be among the most exciting, cinematic, enthralling experiences I have ever gotten from an fps, where I am involved in massive battles with multiple enemy and friendly npc's, where I am put in terse, claustrophobic situations, where shit blows up everywhere. Halo 1 was that to me. Call of Duty and Half Life 2 delivered as well. Halo 1 was just so...epic. Especially for a console fps.
Halo 2, apart from the first few levels, did not deliver. I expect much more from halo 3.
