I haven't seen it. The only way I've been able to sort anything is by selecting it, choosing "Transfer," and then picking the same character or bag again. It's rather minor but really annoying and I hope I find a better way soon.

If there's anything I really wish they would've changed, it's the manual control of voiced cutscenes. I'd have preferred they just set them up to play out instead of having text boxes appear and requiring me to press a button after every line. Give me an option for subtitles instead.

In my opinion DQ8 is great, the best RPG's since ..... don't remember. The only thing the bugs me is that the hero doesn't have any voice over the same problem I had with HL2.

I love all the funny monsters. :)

once you get a bit further you'll find that the battles pick up. i mean...i have my main character switching between boomerangs and spears depending on the enemies i'm fighting....and i'm just starting to learn some status effect spells and the enemies have started using them as well. + i've run into some really annoying groupings recently where some enemies focus on status like putting your party to sleep while others raise their tension for a turn or two and just wipe out a member. but...don't worry, it'll get better/more interesting.

I've put over 10 hours into it since yesterday (played until 4:15 this morning!), and I must say that few RPGs have enthralled me as this one has. Everything is top notch, from the incredible cell shaded visuals and orchestrated score to the deep-but-not-extremely-complicated alchemy system. The difficulty level is perfect and the encounter rate is about as tight as random encounters can be.

I'm in the town of Simpleton (lol) and am heading back to the abbey to save the abbott again. I've spent the last hour of playtime just mixing things up in the alchemy pot and made a cool holy lance!

This is definitely a contender for my game of the year, and it's by far the best RPG I've played since the original KOTOR.

All the criticisms I've seen are valid but are nowhere's near enough to take the game down a notch for me.

As you can see, I'm not a huge RPG fan (anymore).

I love this game.

I've spent 3 hours on it and I haven't even gone to the waterfall cave. I just keep running around leveling and buying all the best armor and weapons available to me right now. As soon as I get that last sword, I'm going to go kick some ass.

that's how you do it!!!

there'a coper sword in the waterfal cave. talk to the slime. it doesn't mater what you say to him, but go down that part of the cave and there'll be a coper sword in the chest. it'll save you some time and money. i was around lvl 7 when i beat the waterfal guy.

Well, I've stayed up till 2-3 am playing the past few days, and this game has me hooked. I've gotten just beyond the slum town and found the first casino. I'd like to get all the casino armor for all members, but it's gonna take forever. Winning on slots is slow, there's no baccurat in this ghetto casino, and you never win at bingo. I hope the coins from a bigger casino down the line transfer over to this one. I spent an hour just earning 100 coins in slots when the first decent casino item is 1000 coins for one person!! I wish MMOs like FFXI had casinos like this!

I'd say all the concerns people have brought up are valid, but they don't detract from this at all. The fights can be interesting if you do something besides selecting "attack" for every character. Once you get more abilities, the monsters do more status effects on your party, and you have groups of monsters attacking you, things get more strategic. Even when I was camping weaker monsters (around simpleton @ lvl 20) to earn gold, it gets more interesting because I was trying to kill them as fast as possible using the best attacks and not wasting combat turns.

Don't waste your time or coins on slots, they're fairly worthless. You CAN win pretty easily (and get a ton of coins) on Bingo. Just keep doing it for a bit, betting 100 coins each time.

The second casino that opens later on is much better, you can play roulette there as well, and that's where the big bucks are. ;) Yes, the coins transfer over, so don't worry. If you won 1000 coins from the first casino, those will be be available right when the other casino opens--they don't go away.

Now I've done a lot more and I can honestly say this is the best Japanese RPG I've played since X.

I really like the music.
