Do Jessica's Whips instead; when properly built up with Tension and Oomph the most powerful attack in the game is Jessica's Twin Dragon Lash.

Also, only put skill points onto Sword/Hammer/Whip/Bow untill you hit a level cap and it won't let you put anymore in; then start messing with Courage and Humanity and such. Well, get zoom and whistle as early as possible I guess; then put all you're points into just weapons. Why? Because if you do that you'll unlock the +5/15/25 attacks bonuses for the weapons quicker; which in the early stages of the game is really helpful and is essencial towards the end.

Yep. I fit into this camp too. This game just keeps on giving. Im 20 hours in, and with just about every RPG for me - im done with it and have moved on. Not with DQ8. Great pacing, solid dialouge, and perfect sense of exploration and discovery - when most others turned into a snooze fest by now. I'd put DQVIII up there with Chrono Trigger, FF6, and Vagrant Story.

opaque, where can i get the skull helm from?

my only two gripes with the game.

sometimes the pause from the end of battle to the world map seem longer than they should be. the characters aren't even celebrating, they just sit there.

saving.......why for fucks sake do i have to hear the holy sacrement every time i want to save. then they always ask if you want to continue your adventure (which i don't see the pont. it's not like an old NES game where you had to sometimes hold down reset when you turned it off to protect the battery). and that you can always talk to your partners. great.....i knew that shit the first 10 time you said it.


other than that i love it. the kings mannerisms and yangus's voice actor rule.

Godbird's Eyrie is on a big Plateau; the first skull helm is to the far west on this plareau. There's also a second one in the bonus dungeon after the game.

I would advise making a Sun Crown out of the first one and giving it to Jessica (Hero can also equip it, but if you've been collecting Mini Medals you should have got a Metal King Helm already, and he should be wearing that). DO NOT PUT THE SKULL CROWN ON ANYONE; it'll drop their attack to 0.

When you get the second one make it into a Sun Crown as well but then turn that into a Timberal of Tension. You know what it's for and why you want it.
