I can't really describe it..dart wars

We were talking about our awesome nerf battles of old, and snowball fights, and I came upon this article. I've played similar games to this "dart "wars" thing but never on this scale..these kids are freaking awesome.

Then there's the whole police reaction...fucking nonsense. Nothing pisses me off more than reasoning like this: '"Quite frankly, if I was in high school, it looks like something that would be pretty much fun," said Lt. Dennis Boone, who is commander of the city's road patrol. "It would look harmless until you think in this day and age, with all the crazy things going on right now, the timing is probably just not really good for this."'

Fuck that. And it's all over the goddamn place. Give me your thoughts!

We've got a bunch of those Nerf Mavrick guns in the apartment. It's not safe.

Especially going to the bathroom at 2 am... THWUP!

I kept mine in the office over the summer. The office is basically a desk in a tiny room where two people sit at a desk and answer questions and fill out paperwork. It's difficult to explain. I'll post a photo if I can get one.

Anyway, long story short, we had whistle darts and people got shot in the eyes on occasion and it hurt. It was wonderful.

Nerf sells blowguns now, actual blowguns. They're so much fun...and these new vests seem cool.

I've just never seen an organized nerf game that even came close to approaching that in the article.

The cops are just being assholes and overreacting as usual.
And I love how they always pull that 'in this day and age' crap. Yeah, in this day and age, when violent crime is steadily declining and the need for military enlistment is on the rise, the last thing we need are kids playing a harmless wargame.

Those whistle darts jam a lot... but they hurt like a motherfucker, so we keep getting them.

edit: I bet the kids in the article get a bunch of free shit from Hasbro once it's all said and done.

that is so fucking rad. If I had a choice between my highschool or one which did this, the choice would be clear.

God I wish I could've taken part in something like this back in highschool. That's awesome.

One of my friends has a car full of Nerf guns.
Once, we pulled through McDonalds and pointed the gun at the man giving us our food.
Good times.

Agreeance. I hope the exposure will start a trend around the country--but I hope they set up better rules because its only a matter of time before a kid gets shot.
