The end credits were great. Amazingly gaudy, on the level of "XXX".

Taken to the sig-bitching thread, because I should know better. If you don't want to go there, though, here's the moral of the story: Jonas is a fucking moron.
The story in this movie sucked...horribly. Maybe if the game had never existed I MIGHT'VE appreciated the movie story better but the fact is that I didn't. Where the fuck were the demons? Why did they have to sway away from the game in a way that they knew wasn't going to be appreciated by the fans? Why oh why?
That being said I'll give the movie a 6.5 out of 10. The FPS sequence was pretty neat though I thought the whole super-soldier concept was stupid and I was mad when the Rock lost his god-damn mind at the end of the movie suddenly and without warning (before he was infected). There was plenty of shooting but only two significant enemies (the imp and Hell-knight with a nod to the zombies) but these enemies didn't do what they should've done (climbed around on walls, thrown fireballs and plasma-balls). The technical directing was very very so-so, shown off most significantly by the incorrect military lingo they were constantly using (Marines don't call each other soldiers and a Sergeant ((Sarge)) is in no way, shape or form, a Commanding Officer). It kind've seems they just got thrown into the shit with no briefing, warning or preperation but that's all excusable.
The movie had some decent action sequences and some stupid ones, the story was fuck-wacked, the fight between Sarge and Reaper was stupid and the movie had almost nothing to do with the game besides a whole bunch of little nods here and there. The worst part of it all was that the movie was perfectly set-up to be a completely bad-ass movie but whoever wrote the movie must've wanted to fuck it up and not make a quality film with a quality story.
If I had made the movie, I'd give the first half-hour with no contact with enemies but alerting that they were indeed there (the movie did manage to pull something like this off), instead of being a mission the Marines (or Marine) would've had to fight through the place for their own survival rather then some data retrieval mission. A lot more darkness, a lot more fucked up Satanic shit and DEMONS, not some stupid infected humans that don't even have a reason to be in the film. More nerve-wrecking stuff, demonstrating the fact that the whole endevor is really fucking up the Marines in the head and making them jumpy, so on and so forth. But what the hell do I know, I'm just a gamer that wanted to see a film based heavily on a video-game as I was kind've promised.
Sucked. It wasn't House of the Dead "funny" bad, nor was it Alone in the Dark "let me the fuck out the theater NOW" bad. It was just boring. That's it. No tension, hardly any action (in a movie based on DOOM of all games?!?), and barely any of the monsters from the games showed up. You had a few zombies, 2 or 3 imps, and one pinky. The FPS part was cheesy as all hell.
Rock is capable of showing some charisma (like in the Rundown), but here he sucked balls and turned in a laughable performance. Everyone did. And there was no tension because you didn't give a shit if anyone died. Really, if a guy named "DESTROYER" gets killed, does anyone care? Of course not. You want fucktards like that to get mauled.
Total shit sandwich of a movie, but not as painfully bad as Sl1p made it out to be. Just more vapid, forgettable, by-the-numbers Hollywood drivel. Big suprise.
Well, I apparantly hate my god damned life. .
