I always liked Federation vs. Zeon, even if just for the destroying Big Zam.
Indeed, Tech Romancer is great and it has a very tight vs. mode. Campy yes, but it is a nice homage from Capcom to giant robo series.Quote:

And not a mech/robot game, but for those who heart mechs, top secret projects in a WW2 setting(and even a few aliens), definitely check out the Strikers 1945 series.
Armored Core is garbage. The gameplay was acceptable in the first installments, but not enough changed by 3 on PS2, and it just doesn't seem that much fun anymore.
If you like 0079 and the other UC series, Journey to Jaburo is awesome. If you're not a fan, there's nothing for you. It's too easy once you get used to the control, though. You'll be getting an S on every mission in no time. Still, going back to it is still fun.
Funny, I picked up Iron Soldier 3 for like $2 and a friend of mine gave me a copy of Ring of Red after showing me a video of it and I freaked out with excitement. I didn't have a Playstation up here at that point so I still haven't played either. I'll be getting on that once midterms are over.
I guess I wouldn't know much on AC, never played it much beyong the second game on PS1 at a friend's house. Was just curious about the PSP rev.
In other Giant Robot related news... The Gundam Razor!
I was hoping this wasn't what it is.Quote:

Fuck that, no gundam for my legs. Yeah I always felt that armored core on the PS1 had tons of room to grow and hoped it would gone to XBL eventually for like 1v1 and team matches of custom mechs and shit. AC should have become the Street fighter series of the mech genre.
It didn't, and I'm a sad mechgirlie for it.
Front Mission 4 sucked because it didn't offer anything over Front Mission 3. IT was like front mission 3.01
The last two ACs can be played online via kai. Nine Breaker is actually a good intro to the series since it's built around training and has the new control scheme introduced in Nexus. Nexus was kinda bleh, and Nine Breaker doesn't have anything but training and arena matches so if you're looking for a storyline, forget it.
SLAI is basically an improved Phantom Crash, which is nice mainly for people who never played PC. It has more of a story and mission feel, but the customization and the overall gameplay is inferior to AC.
