Japanese release date is Dec 29. There are rumors it might not be turn-based, but the gameplay screens in the scans look like they're from a strategy game, at least.

Sweet, though I'd like a bit more in game stuff than just the super cinema fest of those scans.

LOL mine too, though I played FM3 til my fingers bled. The game needs more color. PS2 version was very bland graphically and I know it isn't always about the graphics, but it would help, cause I thought FM3 looked better.

Looks very nice. While I'm not necessarily big on cut-scenes, it's a nice change of pace to actually see a strat game's story unfold through those, rather than the constant talking heads we usually get.
Do any of these newer FM games actually stand out? I loved the first Front Mission, I played the hell out of it for quite a while even though I didn't understand a damn word of the dialogue. I have a copy of FM3 somewhere... hell if I know where, I don't even have the jewel case, it's disc only. Chances are good that I'll probably never find it. I watched some videos of 4 and it didn't really interest me that much. I can never get a straight answer on if they're worth playing from someone who liked the first FM and FFT a lot, but isn't really a huge fan of strategy games or RPGs anymore.
I'd like another FM like Gun Hazard. Awesome action game in the FM universe. I never got to try FM2 or FM Alternative, vaguely curious about FMA.
3 are good. Play 3.

I really liked Front Mission 4. I want a US sequel.
I can't believe this never came over. Definitely one of the most criminal localization oversights of the PS2 era.
I, however, still haven't given up hope.
I got Swap Magic, so I'm going to test the patch later. I played a spot of Front Mission 4 the other night as well, and people rave how much better 5 is.
