It went from a blatant, uninspired, and completely (aside from a guy crapping a Yoshi egg) unfunny comic to something that is at least somewhat original and their own. I saw improvement, and I remember somehow starting to not hate Andrew at the time, so I pretended to be human and offered some encouraging comments that have come back to bite me in the ass as ringing endorsements of my love for Robobo.
I see complete trash in syndication every time I look at Blondie, Cathy, Rose is Rose, and countless other wastes of trees. I'm not saying Robobo is better, but at least it's online. Maybe my sense of humor doesn't totally jive with Andrew's and Jonas's, but I can always tell what they're going for.
One of my favorite comics of all time, Bloom County, started off as hack Doonesbury plagiarism. Things get better over time, characters come out of nowhere and demand more exposure, and comics change wildly over the years. Maybe Robobo isn't fantastic art but it's a step in the direction they want to take.
I don't even think I had a point to make here at all. I'm just saying random things now. I'm going to go somewhere else.

This happens to a lot of comics. I've never even heard of Rose is Rose, but Mzo mentioned Bloom County. BC started out great and evolved into perhaps the best newspaper comic ever. But, like anything else that's pushed waaaaay past its prime (see: The Simpsons), it degenerated into unfunny crap well before it was over, with Berkeley Breathed still whipping its cold, festering, worm-infested corpse to this day with various shitty spin-offs (Outland, Opus).Quote:
