The best free games on the net

I was looking around this week for something to satsify my free gaming fix, and I came across some really nice gems, so I was wondering if everyone could post some of the impressive games that they come across-

Albatross 18 - Really nice looking golf game that lets you play online with other players, complete with ranking and everything. Completely and utterly free. Game looks fantastic too. Online play, at least from what I've messed around with, is flawless as well.

Gunbound - Leiro for the next generation. I can't suggest this one enough. Download it.

Knight Online - Impressive MMORPG that's free with the optional pay accounts that give you special bonuses. Really impressive.

Gate to Heavens - Another incredible MMORPG.

O2Jam - Crazy online music game.

I'm a bit strapped for time right now so I can't hunt for a link, but Cave Story, as I'm sure has been said countless times, is an incredible side scrolling action-adventure game. Ate nearly a week of my time and I'm hankering to go back through it to try and get one of the other endings.

Are these windows games, or are they flash or something?
I've only got a Mac.

Warning Forever - Excellent shmup.

I found cave story but since I cant read anything I cant seem to download the game. :(

Parsec47 is awesome. Game always puts me in a trance.

The only one I know for sure about is Albatross 18. There's no Mac version, which is heartbreaking. It looks like a lot of fun.

I'm sure you know there's Cave Story for OS X, though. In fact, I can't remember who broke that news to me, it might have been you. If anyone hasn't gotten to it yet, somehow, do so immediately. There was another thread on it with links somewhere here.

There should be an "Official Free Games" thread by now.

Where can one download Cave Story? I searched for it but all of the downloads lead to Japanese download sites that I cannot decipher....

Exactly! None of them were "Official" so they keep showing up.

Info for downloading Mac and Windows versions of Cave Story.

Cool, I got it set up with no trouble.
After setting up my controller, I had to quit and restart before it would let me start a new game for some reason.
I don't feel like starting it now though.
These types of games suck me in for hours.
