Games that don't deserve their soundtracks.

I'm listening to the CV: Curse of Darkness soundtrack right now, and I'm only on track 3, and it's already blown me away.

It's completely awesome, and yet I feel sort of empty inside because it's the soundtrack for such a mediocre game..
Actually, it's the soundtrack for a very shitty game, considering the standard that most other Castlevania games have set.

The only other case I can think of off the top of my head is CV: LoI, but I'm sure you guys can easily think of a few good examples..

Chrono Cross. Decent game, great soundtrack. I remember that more fondly than actually playing it.

God, you guys are hard on the 3D Castlevanias. If CoD's as good as LoI I'll be HaP (Happy about Playing).

It's because Konami has no excuse to keep making them when a good high-res 2D game with this music would be godly.

There are far better Castlevania games and far better 3D action games in this style, despite the fact that Konami certainly has the budget and the talent to hang with Capcom and Tecmo in this area. No, I don't think anyone is being too hard on them.

My vote: Final Fantasy VIII

I knew that SaGa series would come up. I won't even bother defending them, but they all have great soundtracks, especially Unlimited.

Napple Tale wasn't a bad game at all, but the soundtrack was incredible. It's hard to find now, tho.

Sonic R and Sonic CD. Great cheesy as fuck Sega music on a terrible and a mediocre game.
