I never played WoW. I played DoAC for some time, but swore I would never play another MMORPG (see: time suck). I am very interested in seeing if WoW is as great as they say and now that it won't cost me anything to try, here goes nothing.

Got a demo disc for it in my Maxim this month. Win/Mac too.
It's a fun game. It will waste lots of your time if you let it. I don't. I play maybe a few hours a week and still get a lot out of it.
I'm willing to give up to 8 hrs a week max....is it worth playing?
I'd say yes, definitely. But I'm hardly the MMORPG expert. I've only ever played Everquest I & II and now this. I actually think EQ II may in fact be the better game but it runs too slow on my machine and I refuse to turn anything down (also, it's harder to solo in EQ and I don't like people).
Be warned, the game is absolute crack. Thats the only thing I did over the summer. You can play it pretty casually up until level 40 or so, but after that you really have to start dedicating some time to it. I have a lvl 60 warrior and I neeeeeever play it anymore cuz I never have the time. Every once in awhile I'll play my lower lvl Shaman (he's like lvl 28 or something), but seriously, this game is extremely addictive. You lvl way faster than FFXI or EQ, but as you level more and more it takes tons more time to lvl. Go ahead and try it out but I'm telling you right now the game is virtual crack.

I'm sorry to say that if you have important things in your life, WoW has the power to put those in the back seat. I think I belong in the group that dedicated their summer to a shitty game. Fortunately at the end of summer I lost the desire to play, thus ending the cycle. I'm so glad it happened, but it was out of the blue; it's like a heroine addict suddenly realizing the high isn't good anymore, so he quits. End of story.

So. If I download this, play, like it and want to play more can I just subscribe or do I have to shell out for the "retail" version?
I'll give it a shot. But not a $50 shot. Hell I'm only trying it because it's free.

It should be $30-35 by now. Was for me at Fry's a couple weeks ago.

The problem that I have is that the game is for North American customers and as I live in the UK I am unable to get the page that displays the key. Would it be possible for a North American to get a key and PM me please? (nothing illegal and it isnt breaking the forum rules as the key is legal) Thanks in advance.
