the original slimlines (v12's) always needed a laser "fix" to prevent them from burning out. the new v13's no longer need this "fix".

as for which ones work with the slims i know
crystal 1.1 lite works on v4-14's
dms 4 lite v4-14
matrix infinity v4-13
duo 2 se 4-11

Question - any chance these modchips allow for any region of DVD? Or are they simple for the games side of things?

gamesharks can change your region settings.
