Got a mini-SD card for my cell phone MP3 player. All was fine last night (I had 177 songs on it). This morning, the phone's telling me that there's no songs on the card, but if I to into the cell's system section and check out the card's memory usage, it says there's the correct amount of data on there. Weird. Do you think the card's corrupted and I should exchange it, or is this just one of those things and I should just re-load the files and see what happens?
Flash memory is kinda glitchy. Format, reload, and if you've still got nothing, exchange it.

BTW, A buddy of mine here at work agrees with you. He said shit like this can happen to flash memory cards, especially if you're constantly loading and unloading data from your PC, like I've been doing the past couple of days.
in checking out the LG forums over at howardforums I would suggest maybe trying a hard reset of the phone
meaning open up the battery back take the battery out of the phone and let it sit for a few minutes put it all back together and see what happens
Well, I formatted the card and reloaded the songs. Everything seems okay now. If it happens again I'll take your suggestion, John. Thanks.
But what exactly were they saying over at the LG forums? Are people having problems with the phone itself or just the cards?

Verizon has a tendancy to cripple certain features so you have to use their Get It Now service (i assume you have verizon as I think theyre the only ones offering the VX8100)
from what I've gathered there were alot of features the phone was going to have but when it shipped it didnt, again I don't know if that's changed with the newer software versions, as I didn't read that deep into the threads

Actually, you're right. The earlier versions of the VX8100 (yes, it's a Verizon phone) didn't ship with the software you needed to access the MP3 player. You had to go to a Verizon store and have your software upgraded. Lucky for me, I have one of the newer, updated phones that included the MP3 software, so my phone does everything its supposed to. :tu:Quote:
