Star Control 2 had a sequel. Unfortunately, it was not good.
Try out Captain Blood if you're into science fiction strangeness. Anyone bitching about how aliens always speak English will be pleased by the realistic approach it takes to cross-species conversation.
So I finally picked this up and I'm about 10 levels in and this game is a giant pile of shit.
Please tell me it gets better.
Go back to playing Mortal Kombat.

So basically what don't you like, and see if there's something to fix that mayhaps. The combat gets easier once you start getting more skills, eventually you're just wreckin shit unless you don't ever go under cover.
Also starting out brand new character and putting it to hardcore mode without all the skills you get later on, is pretty brutal.
I tried the side quest where there is basically an army of Husks and that took me entering and exiting like 3 times mid combat.
He started in Hardcore mode?

Nono, he can't. I was talking about me, who after I beat the game, started a new character in hardcore mode.
The way achievements in this game benefit you though is one of the best ideas around.
Oh it's not bad actually. I started a fresh Adept for hardcore. It's only tough for the first 15 levels or so, but after playing once you know the right way to distribute points to become overpowered. By the end of the game it was easier then normal mode.Quote:

I decided to save Hardcore mode for when I get the game myself anyways.
You should have used Singularity more and given that to the soldier. With singularity they're invincible.
