What's a good simple program to burn video files to watchable DVD's? Something that can also convert non-compliant video files would be a nice bonus.

Shin John should be able to help you. He's actually helped me with the same thing- he assisted me once in getting a good video editing program (Adobe Premere Pro- I'm lovin' it) and at some point he said he's going to help me find a DVD authoring program, too. He's a swell guy.
Win avi I think it's called. It can convert a ton of types of files (wmv, avi, divx etc) )to burn on DVD. It can convert files to different file types too (like avi to mpeg). It converts files fast too.
For burning dvds I usually use DVD Decryptor (probably have to dig around for it, the feds shut it down) or Nero.
There's a perogram that I use that's perfect for what you're looking for. But I can't remember the name of it right now and I'm at work. I want to say Intervideo WinDVD, but that may be wrong. I'll reply again later when I get home and let you know what the program is.
Dole's right, Premiere Pro rocks pretty hard. Acquire it. There's a dropdown menu for "Burn to DVD" that'll take care of what you need.
Yeah, but the DVD authoring program Premere Pro comes with is as basic as they come. No menus, chapters, nada. You just get a bare-bones DVD that starts playing when you stick it in the player.Quote:

Edit: Encore! That's what it's called. Adobe Encore.
You are correct.Quote:

They work well in tandem, but it's my understanding that you can use it by itself.
its a seperate app.
