Yeah, 30 minute specials are all 45 minute sets that have the stuff that bombed edited out.

Also a little odd is that they generally film these things two at a time, at least for the serial specials like "Comedy Central Presents" and "HBO One Night Stand". So sometimes the crowd is bored after just having sat through another comic's set... It's all kinda dumb if you ask me. I think some of these things would be better if they just filmed the comic in a club with 500 people, but real fans. But they always want to make these guys seem like big shit first and foremost

The special I'm talking of goes way beyond that. The crowd had no idea who he was, or what his style was like, and they didn't laugh at all until the very end (what was supposed to be anyway) of the show. The crowd FINALLY caught on and got into it, so he went on and had to basically do a whole new set.

The problem with Cross is that he looks like the embodiment of the left-wing, starbucks-sipping prick (as evidenced by some ill-conceived notions about him in this thread). But he still tore the shit out of Larry the Cable Guy in the link posted.
