I just saw this on the news. It's a shame, but at least he went out still being able to enjoy life.

What an insult to Richard Pryor. Siefeld isn't half the comic Pryor was.

If anything, the comic closest to Richard Pryor's style is Eddie Murphy. That was before he went all Disney on us though.

It really sucks what happened to Murphy. Raw was great. I'm going to go back and listen to Eddie's story about Bill Cosby and Richard Prior in memory.

No, it wasn't an insult. I never said anything regarding my opinion of either comic other than the fact that if you like Seinfeld you'll definitely love Pryor because Seinfeld's "Did you ever notice?" commentary style was one of the things Pryor popularized.

He's not saying you prposefully insulted him, only that saying Jerry Seinfeld and Richard Pryor in the same sentence is the insult.

Yeah, Jerry can be funny in his own way, but outside of the "Did you ever notice?" comedy that you mentioned, they have absolutely nothing in common.

Richard Pryor is like comedy royalty. A true pioneer; if there were a comedy Mount Rushmore, he'd be right up there. Hell, Jerry is like the head of the mail room in comparison to Pryor being the CEO of the company.

I can only imagine all the comedy tributes and such this will produce. Maybe this will be enough to get Eddie Murphy out of his funk of kiddie movies and into something more worthy of his skills. I'd love to see him play Pryor in a bio pic.
