Wanted: A good multiplayer PC FPS

It's the holiday season and, oddly enough, there aren't that many new releases that interest me. So lately I've been tackling my backlog of PC games. Once I finish Deus Ex and DoW: Winter Assault, I'd like to pick up a nice FPS I can play to unwind, preferably one that one or more TNLers enjoy.

Anyone care to recommend something?

Don't say Battlefield 2. Thanks to the fuckups at EA and their shitty QA policies, BF2 will not install on my PC.

Do people here still play CS:S? How about Day of Defeat: Source (I haven't tired of WWII shooters yet)?

I've played Call of Duty online for more than 1300 hours. It was fun and I highly enjoyed it. The game itself is awesome.

However, Call of Duty 2 came out, and I didn't purchase it. I suggest picking that up. If you're into competitive gaming, the community can be somewhat immature, but I guess that's expected with every game.

I can't really talk about any other games. CS:S is fun, but people have already mastered the game, so I'd say it's too late for that. DoD:S isn't going to be popular. Don't even bother with that. I suggest CoD2.

Play Halo 2 again you tool.

There is no better FPS.

I would suggest Halo 2 as well. I still haven't played an FPS as fun. I wish I could play it on my modded box.

Another interesting point:

If you play with me it won't matter if you're rusty becuase I'll just kill everyone for you.

Quake 4 came out recently. I hear the multiplayer is pretty good.

Someone made a mod for DOD:S, its called DOD:C (or Day of Destruction). The weapons are more lethal and accurate. I think you will find it a nice change of pace from BF2, where the players move alot slower.


Plus, DOD:S only costs 20 bucks, and can be downloaded through Steam.

I played Halo 2 with Nomi like a week ago and I sucked really bad and I still had fun.

Day of Defeat is tops fun.
