So today was Howard's first real broadcast on Sirius satellite radio. I stayed as long as I could before I had to leave for work, but overall the show was very good. It started out slow due to some techinical difficulties, but once Howard talked about his marriage, the show's pace picked up. Here are some interesting tidbits from the show.
* George Takai (Mr. Sulu) is now the announcer for the show, which was a pleasant surprise considering how the show always goofed on him. He'll be in live all this week, but then afterwards he'll prerecord introductions. I really wish though they keep in live permanently because he's great on the show, such as his admission of his first sexual experience with a male summer camp counselor.
* Howard initially revealed that he married his model girlfriend, Beth O., which completely shocked (and angered) the rest of the cast. After hearing from everyone, Howard revealed that he wasn't married to his girlfriend, and that he only said he was married just to hear how people would react to the news. Good bit.
* Then came the revelations, where each member of the show had to reveal a humiliating secret. Before the show ended on terrestrial radio, each cast member had to tell their revelation to one of the writers, Will, to see if it would pass the shock test. Today was the day they revealed those secrets, but they're going to wait until next week before revealing who said what. Among the 11 that were announced (I'll just list the ones that were really interesting), a cast member admitted to:
- cheating on his wife and getting caught
- hiding in the bathroom until a family member entered and jerking off while the member did their deed
- getting a girl pregnant within the last year and paying for part of the abortion
- getting plastic surgery
- spending over $10,000 on internet porn
- pleasuring themselves with meat and vegetables
- having a guy blow his load on their chest
- getting their stomach pumped in the hospital for alcohol poisoning, only to wake up and find an acquaintance of the same sex fondling their genitals
Got to wait until next week to find out who admitted to what.
The show then went to an interesting press conference, but after 8:45, I had to leave. It kills me that Sirius does not have a portable player yet, but otherwise, it was a good show from what I've heard.
