so after a bit of Halo 2, my xbox decided to stop working.. At least, part of it isn't working, and I think it's the hdd.
I get the blinking red light.. But I also hear a strange grinding noise, which I think is the hdd, but could possibly be the dvd drive.
The light is actually green for a while, but doesn't load up the game.. and then will eventually turn to blinking red. :/
Any suggestions? How easy is it to replace the xbox hdd yourself?
Man, MS makes shitty hardware.
Do you have two discs stuck in the system?
2 copies of Halo. Can't you read?

Same thing happened to me a couple years back, the HDD just shat out from one day to the next.
It was very depressing to lose my near 100% Spdierman 2 save. I might never do it again.
PS - I didn't lose the save in the crash instantly. I bought a memory card and transfered it to Geen's Xbox, which he then promptly sold. I never got the save back. What an asshole.
