Holy mother fucking creepy, Batman. Jesus christ I want to see that.
By all means please watch the original first.
Guh, I hate it when USELESS changes are made. Do they need to make up some sort of explanation for the people in the hills? Why tell us that there was some sort of radioactive experiments there, and that they are all freaks because of it. Unless I forgot that from the first one, it was not needed. Plus it looks like they are all crazy looking, while in the original it was just one bizarre person. The other stuff looks decent enough, but still plenty of stupid things added because they don't think the audience is smart enough, or not creative enough.
Much like The Fog, I wasn't much of a fan of the original, therefore a remake does not excite me. The only time a remake was better than the original was The Thing, and the only time it was as good was Night of the Living Dead. It's not that the original was bad (like the fog), it's just it wasn't all that great (not my thing, I guess... I didn't like Last House on the Left either). Also, I was not a fan of Haute Tension due to the crap ending.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, I hate remakes. However, I'll will admit that I did like the Dawn remake better than the original.
No way. While I'm not in the "DOTD is the greatest horror movie ever made" camp, I definitely don't think the remake is better. It's good, but not better.
That scene where the chick's dog runs away and then she puts everyone's life at risk to save it killed the movie for me. I hate when horror movies pull retarded shit off like that just to move the story along when in truth it can't (see: bikers storming the mall)
I'll admit I liked the remake more on the second viewing via the director's cut. The extended headshots were awesome.
The remake was good, but it lost all the meaning that the original had by having them only be there a few days.
If first impressions are worth going by, Haute Tension taught us that this guy 1.)knows the devices of a good horror movie like the back of his hand and 2.)can't make a good story of his own worth shit.
So, this should be pretty sweet.
True, but if they can learn from their mistakes, we can expect to see some great shit.Quote:
