Do GC Bongos work with a joypad extension cable?

Using a joypad extension cable with the bongos shouldn't stop them from working, or does it?

Don't see why it wouldn't, it's essentially a controller.

That's what I thought, but I'd like to be sure. Any first-hand experience from anybody?

I've played on one with an extension cord.

The GBA also works with the extention cable hooked up to the gamecube. That was the only way I'd play Four Swords after being spoiled by the wave bird.

My GC's power cable doesn't reach far enough. Would it work with a standard extension cord?

Why would you use the bongos anyway? There are no good games for them and Odoma is now using a mic instead of the bongos (I think).
