Current racing (NASCAR) Jacket fad

Does anyone know where this latest fad of everyone wearing racing jackets is from? For about the last month I've seen an explosion of people wearing NASCAR and racing jackets...even moreso the last week as I assume a lot of people got jackets for Christmas. Where and when did this start? I assume some celebrity, or some artist in a rap video must've worn one, as that's usually how these trends start. There is the obvious fact that I live in Alabama, and just 15 minutes east of Talladega, one of the major tracks on the NASCAR circuit, but it was never like this. Now everyone's wearing jackets, and I'm seeing a lot of cars with NASCAR driver number flags on their windows. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I've seen that hear in Florida as well. Well, by "people wearing NASCAR jackets", I assume that you mean "black people wearing NASCAR jackets." The rednecks have worn NASCAR jackets (and everything else) for years, so they don't count.

I live in North Carolina, but people wearing Nascar jackets is nothing new here. It goes well with camoflage, apparently.

Same in washington. Anything that's dickies or whatever is cool. I see tons of poser jackasses wearing those damn coats with tons of oil and shit on them. There was also some other dumb fucker who thought shooting his hat with a shotgun would make him look more redneck.... in Washington. The guy was a prep 2 years before that. I fucking love America.

The new trend in Washington are those coats with the hair on the hoods. Even the god damn guys are starting to wear them. They looks so comfortable too :(.
