I'm not sure about the premium channels though. XM at one point provided premium channels, but abondoned the idea when they later realized subscribers weren't willing to pay for them.Quote:

There were a few no-ad channels on early cable tv, and in fact until recently a few channels like VH1-Classic and Nicktoons had no comercials other than channel bumps.
Early cable TV only channels couldn't sell any ads because the viewership was so small. so many channels like ESPN didnt run many ads during programming, this is the EXACT reason channels like Nicktoons didnt run ads, as there simply was no revenue from them, as they didnt even register a blip on the neilsens.
Well, it's a smaller market now than cable is... wait until it grows.Quote:

Yesterday I went to my friend's house to see the films from the Howad Stern Film Festival on Howard TV. Here's what I thought.
Of the staff films, only three were good. Ralph's movie was short but very funny. It was a whole bunch of opening credits and it ended with a Coming Soon with an increasing release date, reinforcing the running joke that Ralph never gets his projects done. Sal's movie about Robin's meat and vegetables was funny, but it needed to be cut down a minute or so. Artie's 'Be Like Mike' Gatorade commercial parody with Cuervo from 1994 was also good.
Robin and Fred's movie about the transexual Siobahn was horrible. That winning the staff films competition was ridiculous, but Robin gave her award to Sal after the fans nearly revolted.
Howard's movie, 'Fred', was just Howard filming Fred when he wasn't aware, and that was terrible. The less said about Benji's power-walking film, the better. And Doug Goodstein's 'The Death of Terrestrial Radio' was meh at best.
Most of the fan films weren't much better. There were only two that were good. One, called 'Eating Fruit Salad', was a documentary of a guy seducing J.D. via MySpace and giving him a nasty surprise via a webcam at the end of the film. This one was my favorite, but it only won third place in the festival.
The other one was 'Radio Play'. It was a fictional account of Howard, Fred, and Robin meeting each other via HAM radio when they were kids. It wasn't funny, but it was the most well-done film out of all the others, so I can understand why it came away with the top prize.
The other films weren't good, and it made me wonder how bad the rejected entries were.
Overall, I was disappointed with the films, and Howard TV didn't have ready the montage of the best of the rejected entries. I'm sure they'll have another Film Festival next year, but I'm hoping it'll be better than this year's.
After watching the films, my friend and I saw the hour of Bubba the Love Sponge 'shocking the puss'. Absolutely INSANE! First, seeing Sal and Richard getting their balls shocked is one of the funniest things I ever saw. Then they had two girls that Bubba brought in and they both rode the Sibian at the same time. Then Bubba shocked their pussies. Definitely a great hour of TV. Go to a friend's house that has Howard TV and demand to see that. It's worth it.
I've had Howard TV for months and have barely watched it since I work so much... gotta change that soon.
wtf is on the Playboy XM station?
The playboy station went to Sirius. Great pick up there.Quote:

I still don't quite understand what it is. Nightcalls?
