Where's the gig?

Pretty good week of shows so far. Thinking about picking up a Stilleto to record the shows I can't catch.
On a related note, for the guys that listen to Bubba the Love Sponge, my lady just picked us up tickets to BubbaPalooza here in Phoenix, should be a good time.
artie coming out to george = win
You can torrent the shows easily.
I grabbed the last two weeks worth before I left for India and threw them on my Ipod. Grandma Caprio vs. Beth is one of the greatest bits ever. Wish I could hear the new ones with George! I'll probably download those during his xmas vacation.
I saw Bob Levey and Beetlejuice do that at Killers of Comedy back in September. Here were my impressions from the show. It was fucking hilarious.
Well, I had mixed feelings about the Artie show last night. First being that the crowd was AWFUL. It's fun to have some heckling, but to be booing literally EVERYONE one stage besides Artie really made the show less enjoyable than it should have been.
Bob Levey was as funny as ever. He MC'ed the show. I never thought he was that funny on the Stern show, but after seeing him in Killers of Comedy I was singing a different tune. He brought the same vibe he did at the Killer's show to this show, extremely raunchy humor while talking lots of shit to the crowd and nearly teabagging the security guards at the front of the stage.
Mike Morse (not sure how to spell his last name) was at the show doing his song parodies. I can definitively say that song parodies are only good on the Stern show and do not transfer over well to a comedy performance setting. He got booed off the stage.
Next up was Richard Christie. Jesus fucking christ was he bad. He got on stage, rambled like a drunk idiot, literally told 4 jokes that weren't funny and got booed of the stage. I really like the shit that Richard does on the show, but he sure isn't a stand up comedian, he was that bad.
Jim Florentine was next, and this is when the crowd REALLY pissed me off. Jim is a hilarious comedian, his stand up was great, but the crowd was so bad that they literally pissed Florentine off past the point of him wanting to finish his stand up. The last 5-10 min of his act were saying "shut up, Artie will be up next, I'm going to be on for the same amount of time no matter what so just calm the fuck down". Extremely lame.
Of course next was the man, Artie Lange. God does he look awful. I hear it all the time on the radio how bad he looks, but the dude is just a huge mess (I have pictures attached). His stand up was great though, ranging from drug stories to jokes about what it would be like if Crazy Alice and Alec Baldwin had a kid. A classic part of his performance was that he had a tall glass full of Jack that he was drinking continuously through a straw.
The show ended with the disaster that was Scott the Engineer. He was even worse than Richard. Just screaming and ranting at the crowd, trying to tell jokes but them all falling flat on his bald fat face, and fighting the crowd through out the entire thing. Though Artie did come back on stage in the middle of his performance saying "yeah, I know this sucks, but think about how great the clips are going to be on Monday morning". JD was there recording the entire show so there will DEFINITELY be clips of that disaster, along with clips from a Q & A session Artie and Scott had after his stand up.
Overall the show was hit and miss, when it hit (Artie, Jim, Bob) it was fucking great, but when it missed (Mike, Richard, Scott) it was worse than anything I had ever seen. After seeing both this and Killers I can say that Killers of Comedy was a better overall show. The filler acts were way better than the filler acts @ Artie's show, the crowd was better, and the main acts (Schule, Sal, Bob Levey) seemed to win over the crowd more than the main acts of last nights show.

Awesome review, dude, and the pics are great too. Post more.
I really catch this show the next time they're in NY.
I would post more but that's all I have. I actually don't own a camera so those were pictures that my dad took.
They played the clips from the gig this morning. Man, you were right, Richard Christie and Scott the Engineer BOMBED. Scott was especially horrible.
What was weird about Richard was the everyone was initially pumped for him and actually gave him a huge round of applause when he came out. But once he opened his mouth the crowd turned on him.
I'm hoping they replay the clips when I'm in the car later today because I want to hear what they have to say.
Hey, I was there.
Artie falling asleep during the "Hottest chick with the smallest tits" contest was pretty bad. He really needs help.

I can't believe you guys still listen religiously every day. I listen to O&A maybe two days a week, and for me that's dedicated. :p
Stern's off for a month now, that's fucked up.
Yeah, it really sucks, but at least we have the History of Howard Stern next week. It sounds like it's going to be really awesome.
Wow, great. History of Howard Stern better not be the full month! At least do best of from this past year.
Am I the only one who wishes it was History of Howard Stern Doing Live Shows in December? I mean, I don't really care that much.
I'm actually really looking forward to the History of Howard Stern. All of their specials have been really well produced and pretty damn great, and I see no reason for this one to be any different. The Billy West spotlight was one of the greatest things to be on the channel, and if you liked Jackie (whom I hate), his spotlight was really well produced too. I even like the master tape theaters, simply because you get to hear awesome shit like The Jesus Twins & the Scott the Engineer push up contest. I can see why people don't like this stuff, but I personally love it and have no problem listening to it.
I'm pretty sure though the history is only one week, then they are actually coming back for a little bit and taking another vacation, or playing Stern spotlight/master tape theaters.
They're going to be doing year-in-review stuff too. I'm looking forward to all the special shows.
Hmm, now I remember why I got rid of Sirius....
Stern not worth $12.95+tax?
Not when he takes off all the time. I know he doesnt care, which is great. I know he's done after the 5 years, thats great too. I just don't like how he went back on shit he said wouldn't happen. For instance, commercials. The show was qualiity, theres no doubt, but between takin every friday off and various weekly (or monthly) vaca's, I can happily download the show whenever I get in the mood. I'll save my money.
What did he say about commercials? I've thought several times about getting Sirius in addition to XM in my Pathfinder, but keep deciding against it, even though I liked listening to Stern several years ago. I wasn't even aware that you could download the show.
He means bootleg it.
Yeah, get torrents of the show. I played by the rules and was underwhelmed. I'm not anti-Stern or anything, but forget paying for it.
Did you not get any value out of the music or sports programming?
I listened to a little of the History of Howard Stern this morning, and it's safe to say that I'll be listening to other programming for the rest of the week. It's very well produced, but overall, it's just a complete bore (so far, at least).
My main problem: It's just the very height of narcissism. I know, this is to be expected coming from Stern and his crew of ass-kissers and sycophants, but if you turned this on not knowing who Howard Stern was, you'd think he had cured AIDS, cancer, and world hunger combined. It started at 6AM, and by 8:40 they had just gotten to his freshman year in high school. They would play music from the era in the background and examine social and political changes and how they related to Howard. They interviewed everyone under the sun (even childhood friends) and it just got silly, how heavy-handed and serious it was.
Besides, for long-time fans like me, this is just boring and drawn out. Stern normally talks about how he grew up ALL THE TIME. The whole show is built around how his childhood shaped his life. You know all this shit already- you hear him talking about it every day. Now, you're just getting it with every single tiniest detail included.
Hopefully it'll get more interesting once they cover his early radio years and start playing some clips of his early broadcasts.
BTW, during the commercials playing during the History of Howard Stern, they're playing commercials for the History of Howard Stern. Um, hello, I’m listening to the shit, assholes.
Dole nailed it. I can't wait until they stop playing this 24/7.
Super boring. At least they had Robin and Artie sitting in when Howard gives his commentary. At least a chance for some life to it.
I tried listening to a little more during lunch, and my opinion of it is even worse, if anything. Some guy who was friends with Howard when he was a kid told a 10 minute story about how Howard was "irreverent" even as a kid and how he called a handicapped guy "Screwy Louie." And it was treated like they had unearthed some fascinating nugget of Howard history. This special is the most boring, inane piece of shit I've ever heard.
And I'll bet anything that, when they come back from vacation, every call and email they put through will praise the History of Howard and just talk non-stop about how awesome it was. I'll truly be shocked if they let one negative comment get through.
There was one good moment of the special. In recounting the moment Howard lost his virginity, they had Crackhead Bob read Howard's first sexual experience from Private Parts. Listening to Howard singing when he was a kid and the King Smaltz's Bagel Hour was very, very hard to listen through.
I hope the special gets better as the week goes by.
Mark me under the "the History of Howard Stern" is ridiculously boring category. The majority that I have heard just isn't interesting to listen to. I did hear a portion today about him coming to Detroit that gave some pretty cool history behind that station and the stuff that he did there, but it was nothing mind blowing, and nothing I would rather listen to over his regular show.
The special did force me to listen to Bubba for the first time seriously today, and he had an awesome interview with Al Harris from the Packers. That dude is fucking awesome, and just because of that interview I'm going to give Bubba a fair chance and start listening to his show more.
They have been hyping this special for a long time and content wise, it's nothing impressive. I listen to an hour or so yesterday and today and like you said, it is nothing mind blowing.
Bubba has a really good show, you have to listen a few times to get all the "Bubba lingo" down. He has a few of his bits and parody songs on itunes. I would check out:
"Catholic town"
"Live Like You Were Fryin'"
"I'm Not a Homo Baby"
"Howard's Bitch"
"Hulk Where Did You Go"
and if you like Ferrall... "Ferrall Interviews Jesus"
Here are three clips from Howard's recent appearance on Letterman.
Cool, I forgot to watch.
BTW, I was listening to Mastertape Theater today, and I find it hilarious that Sal gets so much shit for being "racist" when Howard used to constantly say shit about blacks that was just as bad (and worse) back in the day.
Oh, man- Baba Booey announced on today's show that he might be getting braces. As if he didn't get enough shit for his choppers as it is...
Braces? What?
To correct his huge overbite.
Obviously, but aren't they, you know, 25 years and 30 million jokes at his expense too late?
Gary's going for a consultation to see what his braces options are right now, and he states that he's really doing this for personal reasons, despite the fact that the teeth remarks are going to be more brutal and relenting than ever. I hope he decides to go for the braces, because it will be about 18 months of renewed and vigorous teeth mockery.
Any segment about Baba Booey is funny, this is going to be hilarous.
If Gary's getting braces to correct his bite and not to just straighten his teeth, his options are limited. Invisalign is out, since it can’t correct bite problems. For that, you need to have the metal braces that are actually attached to the front of the teeth, because you need to run rubber bands from the top braces to the bottom ones to help pull the jaw/teeth in the direction you want them going. That amounts to a lot of rubber and metal in your mouth.
With that being the case, Gary will be going through hell if he indeed takes the plunge, especially with assholes like Sal running around the studio. :)
Sal is still around?
I haven't listened since he and Artie went at it, and Artie kind of apologized the Monday after the fight. I'd hoped he would have gotten fired or shot by now.
He's still around. They toned down the gay stuff, although they almost convinced Richard to put his balls in Sal's mouth for a limited edition Simpsons Xbox 360. Sal adamantly refused to go along with the skit, but Richard was willing to go through with it at first.
Wasn't it supposed to be Sal's balls in Richard's mouth?
Sal said he'd do it for a grand, which Howard, Robin, and Arite produced. It still might happen this week.
I can't get enough Eric the Midget. They have him on every day now and I love it. I have no idea how I ever disliked him.
Eric is awesome. I could listen to Stern, Artie, and Fred fuck with him all day.
Was Artie out sick again today?
Yeah, he was, he called in at 3am stating he wasn't going to make it.
As for Eric the Midget, Shule (not sure how to spell it) put it the best for why he enjoys (and why I do also) Eric the Midget. Regardless of the questions he is asked, he is always 100% honest and answers the question (for the most part) no matter what. Which is what makes him so entertaining. I personally can't wait for the highlights from his American Idol webcast tomorrow morning, it really is one of the funniest things the show has had going for it in the past few weeks.
yup. I kinda like being artie-less once in a while. I think it wakes Howard up a bit and he turns it up a notch for the day.
So The Killers of Comedy are coming to Tempe and it is Rev. Bob Levy, Jim Florentine, Shuli, Yucko the Clown, Beetlejuice, Brad Thacker & The Iron Sheik. The only problem is that they want $30 a pop. That is a $15 show, sorry Levy.
I'd pay $30 for Florentine alone. But to sit through the rest of that shit (ok, Levy and Shuli are ok)? $15 seems more reasonable.

Holy shit. Stern is off for yet another week! wtf.
W T F MATE.
you've never heard of President's Week?
If I paid for Sirius I'd be pissed.
He was spotted at the Borgotta this weekend. Living it up at the dollar table.
I wish Mohegan or Foxwoods had dollar tables.
This week has really sucked. Maybe I'm just going through nicotine withdrawal and being overly negative, but I didn't think it was possible to take such a legendary lineup of comedians and somehow make them boring.
For the most part, the uncensored Stern show has been excellent. But the "special programming" and inane porno chick interviews are seriously planting a seed of doubt in my mind.
Mammary Lane on Mon/Tues was actually great, but the Legends of Laughter on Wed/Thurs was horrible. Not day one of The History of Howard Stern horrible, mind you, but pretty bad.
The Seinfeld and Chris Rock/Colt 40 Feinberg were both hilarious, but besides that I agree with you.
If it isn't a new show, I don't even bother listening. I usually listen to Bubba the love sponge but I think for the first in who knows how long, I actually listened to something other then 100 or 101.
Mammary Lane is awesome, I wish they'd replace Mastertape Theatre with it. Legends of Laughter is awful. Another week of vacation and we're not even out of February. It's getting to the point where I'm surprised if they show up for work.
Wait what? They're off this week too? Come on now.
I believe he was talking about this week, "another week" meaning we just had one.
Yeah, if they're not live tomorrow... well, I don't know what I can do about it, but I won't be pleased. My day isn't complete if I don't hear "Steve Langford has a huge penis... penis, penis... penis, penis... penis, penis..."
BIG BLACK BEAUTIFUL TITS
Haha... I listen to "Black Tits" (spoof of "Let's Dance") all the damn time.
The Eric the Midget segment this morning had my laughing my ass off on the way to work. Between him screaming over Steve Langford and Jimmy Kimmel being on it may have been one of the best Eric segments.
For the millionth time, Eric the Midget has declared that he will never call into the show again. lol. We'll see how long it lasts this time.
Jay Thomas has proven once again why he is one of the greatest Stern guests ever. I love how he just shits all over Hollywood and the Academy Awards.
These Eric the Shitcock segments are becoming my favorites. Adding Jimmy to the mix yesterday just made it even better.
I wish I could see the picture of Kendra kissing that little freak. She's smokin hot while he's, well, hilarious looking. Meaning the picture could be nothing less than comedy gold.
The Steve O interview yesterday was so funny because he was so messed up. Everything from talking shit about Bam, pulling a blunt and smoking it, and the rap album was great.
I hope the rest of this week is like today's show. Everyone just spoke off the cuff, and it was entertaining as hell.
Alas, I'm afraid another vapid porn chick interview is inevitable.
First off, Shuli playing the tape of visiting Riley Martin's hotel room with the parrot squawking in the background repeatedly was hysterical (yesterday's show).
Second, the Steve-O tapes they played earlier today were hilarious.
Third, the Wyclef Jean interview was fantastic. LOL at his demonstration to Robin of what he learned from porn. I definitely have to see the clip.
Yeah, the Wyclef Jean interview today was pretty good. That part about having to kneel on the veggie cutters all day in the sun was fucked up.
I just heard they kinda lost contact, but whatever. I always thought Raab was retarded. Like, seriously retarded.
I missed the part of the Steve O interview where he talked shit about Bam. But what I did hear was fucking funny- Steve was so fucking toasted.
Here's one of Henry Hill's "paintings" that he's selling on ebay.

LOLOLOLOLOLLOOOOLOOLOOLOLOOOLOLOLOLOOOOLOLLOLOLOLOL.
I want to buy one so badly. Holy shit that is so many shades of awesome.
Current bid for that one is $46.
Jay Thomas will be doing a live show Friday morning on Howard 101. He's been a consistent, awesome guest, but I never got around to hearing his radio show on the Sirius Stars channel. Looking forward to see how his show is tomorrow.
Also, LOLx2 at Henry Hill's painting.
I want the old Friday Show with Gary, John, and Ralph back
Howard had back-to-back interviews with Run DMC/Kid Rock and Ryan Phillipe. Super entertaining. Ryan's a cool guy too and a big Stern fan. If you missed them today, definitely catch the replay.
